Encrypted Content and DAZ Connect ?

The HELP section of DAZ3D only tells you how to install the content.

Can anyone point me to a link that will explain all about Encrypted Content and DAZ Connect, and especially the possible consequences of getting involved with it?

    With any DRM system, you are reliant on not being locked out for some reason or other; having said that, issues seem to be few if any. A further caveat, there are very, very few DRM only products (these would be termed as Encrypted Connect only).

    My personal view of DRM is that customers suffer rather than those it is targetted at: namely pirates.

    I use Daz Studio 4.9 without even allowing Connect to work, it works fine. I will never buy DRM content. You can chose to do the same, or risk an item as they are usually very low priced. Daz has also stated all DRM (they term them Encrypted Connect?) will be released unencrypted after a year. The year is not up on any product as yet.

    I would like to point out that Encrypted Connect is a poor choice of wording for a DRM system as DRM requires encryption, whereas encryption does not require DRM; where products are encrypted, it does not mean they are DRMed. It should be noted that parts of most (or all?) of Daz products have an encrypted component. I would welcome any corrections to what I have written by a Daz representative.
