Gene Pool Morph Problem for Genesis3 Female

Somewhere along the way I picked up a product that changes the default load for every G3 female I try to load.  It now defaults to adding Teen Josie 7 to every load at 100% with a 85% size, including scene subsets where I have dialed that out.  Any idea what I should do to correct for this?  I remember this happening with Genesis with the freebie Warrior Princess, and fixing it required removing some .dsf files and resetting the default load.  I am not sure what product is causing the problem, but I have my suspicians.  I didn't notice it happening until after I added a number of things so I don't want to point fingers here, I could be wrong.

You could try uninstalling and re-installing Teen Josie? If you examine her sliders in the parameters, you may be able to see if her default load has changed from 0 to 100%. May well be that a product has accidentally reset the defaults.

I don't think it's Teen Josie itself that's doing it, but it can't hurt to de-installl it and see what happens.  I'll give that a try this weekend.  It might allow me to reset the default G3 load anyway.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Look at the Currently Used group in the Parameters pane, with Show Hidden proeprties checked in the option menu if nothing appears otherwise - that should show the underlying morph that is driving the scale and Teen Josie morphs.

  • Thanks Richard I'll do that.  I have worked with the Currently used group, that's how I dial out the Josie Head and Body settings to 0, I didn't think about hidden properties.

Could you have accidently overwritten the main G3F dsf and/or duf file? It is possible to make this mistake when saving a morph asset. To fix this issue, you might try uninstalling the G3F essentials package, and then reinstalling it again.

  • If reinstalling Josie doesn't do the trick, the next step is to find out what else is applying her. Open the Parameter Settings window for the Teen Josie 7 morph, and check the Controllers tab. As installed, it should say "No Controllers". If anything else shows there, that's probably the culprit.

  • I was playing with it a bit more.  I can load Genesis 3 without a problem, I can add morphs to it without a problem (say a charceter head morph and body morph.  If I try to load the whole character though, either with a preload, or a preload on to the existing Genesis Figure, it will load in Teen Josie along with it.  If I take the character I just added the morphs to Genesis 3 to that doesn't have Teen Josie added, and hit Powerpose Reset, it adds all the Teen Josie morphs and the 85% scaling.  So it appears something is fouled up with the preload.  Any idea what file(s) I should be looking at for that?

Did you try reinstalling the G3F essentials package?

  • I once had this problem, but with different morphs. I'm not going to name names, but did you buy a product from another site recently? You might want to check if they have any animation settings. DAZ 4.9 started treating these values differently and will apply them on anything you load. So if Teen Josie is dialed in on that figure in an animation setting, it will apply it no matter what character you try to load.

You can look at your log to help track it down. Once you do, you'll have to clear your cache in DAZ Studio, otherwise it'll still be there even after you think you've fixed the problem. PM me and I can tell you exactly what to look for. I just don't want to name any names in case it's something else.

Thanks, I looked at the log and I think that is exactly what it is.  I'll PM you later today, I have no idea what "clearing the cache" entails for DAZ studio, but yes, it is that kind of situation, and I don't want to name products here for the same reason.
