Ok, I am baffled as all heck! I purchased the Kids 4 Pro Bundle (unfortunately missed the 14 or 16 dollar sale and had to pay 48.00..I hate that one day the sale is on and with hours the price jumps..this I really hate about buying from DAZ) anyhow, on to my point or question. I cannot for the life of me find these kidos/products in my smart content. I installed thru Install Manager. Are these nestled under some other character?

DAZ has a 30 day money-back guarantee. If the price drops within 30 days of the purchase, you can ask the difference back. Write to customer support through the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of each page.
You can always find them on the "content library" tab, click on Product, the letter "K" folder and find this this way.
I found most of that pack bundle under "Lost and Found" in the smart content tab.
These are older Poser styled rigged fourth generation figures, look for them in the Content Library pane under Poser Formats.
Yes, ans make sure that you mention the current offer http://www.daz3d.com/the-kids-4-complete and ask for a refund of the difference between the price you piad and the current offer
Yup, thanks, I just did this..price dropped from last night.
Ok, did this and found them, but I have a box with an exclamation point with all associated. I click on it and I get the message thathat the file does not exist.
Assuming you installed via DIM they should be in the Content Library under Poser Formats>My Daz 3D Library>Figures>DAZ People
I did install using the manager, but they are not listed in the folder you mention "DAZ People" in the Content Library.
The power loader also may cause you some problems. I had to uninstall the Power Loader to get my Kids4 figures to work correctly.
You are looking under Poser Formats, not Daz Studio Formats? Find the main Kids 4 package in the Isntalled tab of DIM, right-click, and select Show Installed Files - paste the text, including the base path at the top, here.
Content (C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library) :
I have to attach a text document with that in that the posting says my pasted content is too long.
OK, so does the My Daz 3D Library folder appear under Poser Formats in the Content Library pane?
yes.
I think I see the problem. All the files installed into the users/public/documents/My Daz 3d Library. I also have a users/amandaalexandria/documents/M Daz 3d Library. I think all is supposed to be installed in the amandaalexandria and not the public, correct? I believe that the public folder is the recommended one for install manager...so maybe I need to transfer everything in the amanda alexandria/documents/My Daz 3D Library to the public/documents/My Daz 3d Library. I do see some of the kids4 files in the public folder. but when I click on them, it says files are missing...maybe because some support files are in the amanda alexandria/documents/My Daz 3d Library?
Do you have a "Runtime:Libraries:!Daz:Kids 4" folder in only one location?
I have a few different Daz Kids 4 folders in the public (Clothing/morphs, etc.) There is also a Daz Kids 4 Clothing folder in the amanda alexandria area. I am confused. Why do I have a My Dz 3D Library in two different locations? Should I have just one folder for all and should it only be in the public documents folder as per install manager recommendation?
Specifically a folder named !Daz (with the exclamation mark), not one that's visible in the content library. That's the support folder, and there must be only one "Kids 4" folder under a "!Daz" folder.
Yup, I got that right. Once I copied all to one folder, the Kids 4 loads. So, now how do I get the rest of the bundle...clothes, hair, etc. Do I have to search the content files to find these? What a royal pain! Why is there not smart content?
Older product, and nowhere near as popular as V4 and M4, so unfortunately it isn't a high priority for metadata.
I am really thinking that this bundle is worthless. I cannot find any of the items that this bundle includes except the base figure. I do not have time to look around to model a child. Isn't there a child model, that is a toddler with normal type eyes (not amine) available that is current and will show in Smart Content?
You can always categorise the content yourself - just right-click on the folders in the Content Library.
As for content directories, by default you would have
users/amandaalexandria/documents/Daz 3d/Studio/My Library
which is the original DS4 default and is used for files you save (unless you specify otherwise) and
users/public/documents/My Daz 3d Library
which is the default isntall location fro DIM. Both should be selected as Poser and DAZ Studio Format content directories.
You should be able to find all the contents of any DAZ product under "Products" at the bottom of the Content Library tab. Every product is listed there in alphabetical order, regardless of whether or not it has smart data.
One of the huge problems I found with The Kids4 in addition to the sparse selection of realistic clothing choices was the inability to do much in the way of expression manipulation or basic facial morphing (i.e. fixing the lips or that glassy stare etc). If anything needs an upgrade to include some of the more modern apps, The Kids are definitely at the top of the list.
I picked up the bundle for "free" with the purchase of some cookie something for $3. Haven't done anything with it yet, but my plan was to convert the morphs to be used with Genesis figures with GenX2. This is old poser content, so I'm unsure exactly what you expected.

And there's this deal if you want even more Kids4 stuff: http://www.daz3d.com/the-kids-4-pro-bundle
Okay, this is wierd. I installed K4 using DIM, and didn't do anything else. Everything shows up in my Content Library: K, and there's what looks like the standard pose controls and expression morphs.
I'm not exactly sure myself when I purchased it, I was a complete newb, had never used poser, and simply needed characters older than toddlers but slightly younger than tweens, and The Kids was the only game in town. Provided you've got the right base model the Youth morph apps can work, with gen 2 and 3 figures, but the end results require a lot of tweaking. Still it would be really nice to have a character in that age range that you didn't have to go through so many technical gymnastics to get.
It really does seem that for what is basically marketed as an entry level 3d software program, a 3d novice is expected to have an awful lot of prior knowledge beforehand both about CGI and how the Daz program itself works.
I am asking for a refund on Kids 4 and going with the "Little Ones" which does show in smart content AND is based off of Genesis 3. Much better.
I hear ya, this stuff can be quite technical.
