What is it? The description sounds a little vague. Is it only for developers?

it allows you to use g3f clothes on g3m and g3m clothes on g2f
That's it? Can't you already do that with autofit?
No, it's it's sort of like UV Swap for Genesis 3 allows you to trade textures between male & female Genesis 3 characters the Genesis 3 Cross Figure Resource Kit allows Genesis 3 Male & Female characters to wear each other's clothing. I have it it works fine. I used it so Genesis 3 Female can wear Genesis 3 male's sports clothing and for that Trojan or Greek kilt or skirt or whatever they calls those things in those days. Cross-Figure or not, even Genesis 3 Female has a bit of trouble fitting into some of her clothing but I did try the grey stretch sweat pants that are part of the Dark Storm Outfit on Guy 7 and they fit fine.
It can also be used as a morph to feminise G3M or masculinise G3F.
For example turning Valandars new Cave Ogre into an Ogre Cavewife.
Yes and no. The instructions actually suggest you try auto-fit first, iirc. But this makes it easy to put clothing on your female, morph to male, and then save as a clothing item for the male. And vice versa. I have it, and it's come in handy from time to time. If you can get it for free, take DAZ up on the offer!
So it works better than the first thumbnail makes it look? A very sharp ridge running vertically almost the length of the shirt made this a no-buy for me. The rest of the thumbnails look good though. Thanks for the input.
Actually you can't do this. The resource is for clothing for genesis, not genesis itself.
Hmmm..... Actually I can do (and have done) this or are you trying to tell me I shouldn't do it 'coz like it's naughty?
Say hello to BushPig (damn I missed some poke-through)
You shouldn't. That's not what the tool was made for. It puts files in that could mess up your install.
So bad rather then naughty. That's disappointing, I much prefer naughty.
Will have to ponder this, I can use the G3F fit clone to get a similar result but like using both.
I think you are mixing this product up with the UV swapper by Slosh. The Genesis 3 Cross Figure Resource Kit provides no cross figure UV support, but as others have said, is used to add support for the other gender, for a clothing item intended for the opposite gender. As such it is similar to autofit, but in some circumstances does a better job (and sometimes does a worse job) than autofit alone. I got this product cheap last December, but for what it does it is only really worth getting when offered at a deep discount. The Genesis 2 version was better, as that allowed the transfer of geografts between the genders.
Feminising G3M? That's redundant!
Further feminising then.
No, I said Slosh's UV products is for textures and the Cross Figure Resource Kit similarly is for clothing. Maybe my wording was awkward but thanks though.
Another advantage of Cross-Figure over Autofit for some things is that because of the way it works, it usually retains rigidity zones. So something like armor, which has areas that should never bend or warp with the underlying character, will retain those areas; Autofit tends to lose that information completely.
Having some trouble with cross-figure and Daz Connect; it seems I cannot save the generated morphs on clothing installed in the Connect folder and the product has become completely useless. Does anybody have any suggestion or should I open a support ticket?
Edit: I am using the G2 version, but I can hardly imagine the G3 won't have the same issue.
I wish I could help, but I have no idea how this product works. lol Is there a way you could save the clothing as a "wearable"? Or does that not help?
The way it works for me is that you don't even need to do anything extra that you don't already do. When it asks you what figure the clothing product was originally intended for you tell it and it figures out the rest. It acts the same as Autofit except it added Genesis 2 and 3 Females to the Genesis 2 & 3 Males and vice versa. For me those options weren't there before.
What exactly is or is not happening when you try? I used it on Dragon Queen armor, which is Encrypted Daz Connect, and had no problems.
I followed the documentation (a link to the PDF is included on that page), which boiled down to four steps:
1. put the armor on G3F
2. Under "Cross-Figure" on the Parameters tab, slid "Transfer to Genesis 3 Male" all the way over; the shape of G3F changes to something kinda sorta vaguely male. (Well, more male than Jeane, anyway.)
3. Ran the Cross figure script on every armor piece (In Scripts/Utilities, I think, in the content library; I've no idea where it would be in Smart Content, since I don't use that. Also, from everything I've seen, most scripts really don't do well if you install them via Daz Connect; they should generally be installed using DIM or manually.)
4. For every armor piece, went to File menu /Save Morph Asset, expanded the "Hidden" node, checked the Cross-Figure morphs, saved the new morphs under the producer's name and a slightly different name than the main product. (In this case, I saved it as "Dragon Queen G3M".)
Which step are you experiencing problems with? Are you seeing any error messages? If so, what is it saying?
