I just wanted to say THANK YOU to vyktohria for creating such a lovely plus sized character! I adore diversity in characters (George is AWESOME) and seeing more diversity in females has been something that's definitely needed! Bessie looks lovely and it's quite refreshing to see some size diversity in characters. And I want to encourage everyone who wants to see more diversity in the characters that the PAs make to speak with your wallets. Even if you're not a fan of her shape (personally I am, I think she's adorable), but even if you're not she has a lovely skin texture with a lightly freckled face and beautiful looking mats. (And, let's face it, many of you guys mainly buy the characters for the textures anyway lol).
I can see Bessie being a great addition to many art renders - from unconventional pinup shoots to "mom" roles and everything in between. Please consider purchasing her and sending out the message to Daz that we enjoy seeing characters every once in a while that are different and unique. Since George came out and now Bessie, I hope we end up seeing even more diversity in not just size but in character types as well. The more we buy characters that aren't the typical rehash of the same, the more we tell Daz that a wide varitey of characters have a place here and diversity is something we want to see more of.

Yes, she's beautiful! Definitely on my "to buy" list, even though I rarely buy for G3.
Could someone who owns her make a Beth Ditto tribute from her?
Or Tess Holliday. :D
I'm probably not going to be able to get Bessie today but I'm hoping this weekend I'll be able to get her. :) I'm definitely looking forward to having such a fun character to render with! :)
I'm not interested in her personally, but I'm really happy to see more varied characters appearing. Very nice work.
I just wish I could be as beautiful as her... well at least I should be able to match her shape :D
Love her a lot too! The more Variety the better... and the more I can relate, the more awesome!
I love the whole look of Bessie and I really wish I could speak with my wallet. Unfortunately, she came at a time when I found out I have two more sets of braces in my future which is going to really eat up and cut my DAZ spending money down to practically nothing! I love characters like these and she looks really well done! I'm looking forward to seeing many images using her. I really hope she sells well enough that we see more characters like her in the future!
Glad to see her, but seriously: Bessie? Why name her bessie, why not something more exotic?
Hows the skin look on a normal size character? Default G3F is great if anyone can.
If I were buying Genesis 3 characters I'd be snatching Bessie up in a heartbeat. Thanks for making something distinctive!
As basic G3F as it gets, with the Bessie skin.
And here's the backside. Added the tatto too.
TY, appreciate it; that's a nice looking texture.
Ah, probably the best use I've seen for that type of skimpwear! :)
Yeah, I thought the same thing. And it kind of made me wonder if whomever named her was trying to be "clever" as Bessie is a well known common name for cows. However I'm trying to give them the benefit of a doubt (and hope they aren't that immature) and hope that perhaps she's named after Bessie Smith or something. The name though ...dang it's bad, imo. Other characters get beautiful or exotic names, the plus sized girl gets named Bessie. o.O
Bessie was common in the past as a pet name for Elizabeth. There was Dressy Bessie I remember my sister had as a child and I had Dapper Dan. Those were dolls to teach children how to dress. Well most didn't need help dressing, I did with tying laces and such.
The name made me think of Bessie Bunter (the fat character in the old comics, Billy Bunter's sister. He was another fat character).
I'm going to think of her as "Bess". Bessie has too many connetations with fat (cows, Bessie Bunter, two ton Bessie etc), but I've always thought the name "Bess" is a really lovely classical name. Weird, but there you go. :D
Ah, good idea! :)
Would love to see some renders of her! Anyone got any?
Same here, but I hope she does well!
Bessie is fitting I would say, LOL
Vyktohria makes some of my favorite female characters, and although I do not work with the G3 female I think I would purchase her based on the fact that she is a well sculpted character. Many heavy morphs do not take the human figure into consideration and just make the character look like they are really bloated, she, on the other hand actually has a pretty decent figure on her. A more natural figure that really does give one a breather from the "stripper" female look that everyone tends to look for. I don't mean to insult, but really, how many barbie dolls with perfect bodies do we need?
Yes, I admit that I buy those same female characters, but I tend to give them more natural forms when dealing with my own character designs. And yes I do the same with the guys. Heck yeah I love, just loooove seeing the hot boys that hit the shop with their perfect faces and well muscled bodies (Liam anyone?), but I'm also a realist and love to see actual human shapes on characters as well.
It's nice to see a character who doesn't fit the typical standard of beauty in the shop, been getting tired of seeing typical anymore. ;)
Not really. "Bessie", typically, has too many negative connotations with it. Fat characters are often represented in negative stereotypical ways - naming her after a cow or "two ton Bessie" is neither clever nor fitting since fat people, just like thin people, are as diverse as any other group of people that share a single physical characteristic.
Voting with my wallet. I think she's gorgeous, and when I'm populating a cafe or city street, I want a variety of shapes and ages. Agree not a fan of the name, but really, we can call our characters whatever we want in our own rendered scenarios.
Can't ever have too many; just don't expect me to buy anywhere near all of em. :)
I respectfully disagree. Some of us are tired of the same thing being rehashed day after day after week after month after year. I've been here only about 5 months but I've seen years and years of backlogs of characters - the vast majority are thin white barbies. And I guess that's what sells the most, so I can't blame PAs for making them. But those who want variety aren't really getting much of it ...at all. So yeah, to many of us you CAN have too many if it pushes out the chance for a bigger variety with more diversity in the characters that are created and released.
That is what I look for in the store, but like many here, I want the quality and uniqueness of the character. For me personally the selling point of George isn't that he is a big fat guy which is different fron the norm, it's the quality of the morphs and the skin and based on what has been posted that is a big part of this package also. I don't worry about when/if we will get more unique characters because there are a TON of morphs avaliable to make any character any shape and size
Agreed! Luckily we have choices like Bessie here and with the ton of avaliable morphs, we can render any shape and size we are happy with
There is only so much morphs can do, particularly with more "extreme" shapes like George.
But if we where to go that route and just say "hey bring out more and more barbies - anyone who wants anything different can morph their own characters" - then why not bring out a wider variety of body shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Anyone who wants "moar barrbbbieeee" can just use morphs to make them.
Bessie's really a great character, and a great resource. This is her dialled in at 25%, combined with V7 at 60%, and playing around with Zev0's fantastic Age Morphs, for an Aging Heroine.
Someone needs to make a Pam render...
Beating up hobos.
Oh, I love this! Nicely done!
This is fantastic!
