Futuristic/Cybernetic Armour...

Every so often, something comes out which you need to purchase, no matter the state of your finances.
Luthbel's new Cyclops Suit HD very much qualified as that for me! Now I'm just hoping to high heaven that there'll be a G3F version to go with it (with non-emphasised cleavage)... This was the kind of armoured suit I've been wanting for an absolute age, where it looks like a convincing hardened, mechanical suit. Minimal rubber-like bending and looks shell-like enough to provide real protection agaisnt the environment or firearms.
Now I just need Parris to do a G3 Iray-compatible version of their ever-excellent Bot Armour bundles. :)
More convincingly armoured suits/cybernetic limbs like these, please, creators!

...I find the best and most reasonable looking furutistic armours as over on Xurge's store site (cannot post link though) Most are for Gen 4 however Hellfish Studio has converted a number of them for Genesis and G2 so autofit shouldn't be an issue.
For big body power armor that is mostly mechanized I honestly don't thing gender would be too obvious so the mans suit could possibly work.
I really like xurges stuff however not a lot for gen 3 and the textures are beginning to lack realism and suits are looking rubbery compared to newer content.
...but you have to admit that it is the most practical comapred to what often goes for armour in the store here.
Being involved in the Shadowrun cyber RPG, most armour is not all spiffy and shiny save for high level sec and military grade stuff (actually you don't want to stand out as it makes you a prime target for the oppos). Two of Xurge's that I like the most for a "runner" type character is the Skiinsuit for G2F and Peacemaker for V4.
Oh I love xurges content and use it all the time! In fact my characters primary body suit is larvae armor. However the rubber look and lack of Iray textures just doesn't hold up as well to newer content which often has sharper lines more realistic textures. In particular many of the helmets conform oddly and hex pattern textures need updating.
I'd really like to see less rubber diver looking armor though and more stuff with edges and customization ability for those of us who like shaders. it is tough to customize armor if details don't have enough mat zones or details are painted on
Hmm... Maybe I ought to dust of the Alpha and Omega Scout armor concepts I was thinking about a few years back..
Yep, love those M4 suits. I haven't used them in ages. I think I have just about all of DAZ's M4 cyber suits/gear too. Sadly, I have to wait on Luthbel's Cyclops suit, but it looks oh so impressive. It definitely has the perfect 'hardened' battle suit look.
Xurge's site wouldn't be of help, even if it was usable for modern figures, as I can hardly ever get non-DIM stuff to show up in Daz Studio. Sad, but true. So, I pretty much rely on what's in the store over here.
For those curious, I tested this new set through auto-fit for G3F and it works just fine! Make sure to remember not to use the shoulder pads, however, as she looks a lot better without those. It's one of the few sets which looks genuinely rigid and shell-like. While it does curve around the female cleavage, that's fixed if you use some of Raw Art's 'No Suit' morphs to negate that aspect of the underlying body.
I'm alway amazed by Luthbel's work and this Cyclops Suit is no exception! Thank you very much for the compliment. I definitely will be working on something like you've suggested in the future, though right now I'm not sure whether it will be Bot Genesis 3 or Genesis 3 Bot Armor.
Either/both would be an instant buy for me as well. And I agree with Xenomorphine's original post whole-heartedly!
....I have no issue. I have a lot of content I purchased from Rendo, RDNA (before the merger), Evil Innocence, and Xurge as well as boatloads of freebies, and never have trouble finding them. Granted, I do not use Smart Content because I feel it wastes screen real estate but instead have custom a runtime setup.
I recently used one of Xurge futuristic body armors in a render. Usted Fitted them all I think to fit it to Michael 7 and had to tweak the materials to look decent in Iray, but I think is pretty good. http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/193166
Plate parts of the armor are even in a different surface (I just noticed) so you can add some metalicy to suit your taste.
...that looks really good.
Yeah I have tweaked the textures for xurge's content but to me they look a bit dated even so. I like your render though.
Xurge also seems not to have made anything new for some time for newer figures.
I still use my Xurge favorites on Genesis based figures: Larva for D3... just love that thing to death.
I also have the H.A.A. Suit. And the paladin armor that you can see in my gallery (although that is a bit off topic).
Fantastic to hear! I got some excellent industrial/mechanical-looking results by combining the G2 bot armour with the darker texture expansion (and 'shoes' it included) and replacing the arms with the Ant Farm/Sickleyield MAG 2 Robotic Arm set. With the right Iray shaders, it's time-consuming, but the results are exceptional. Having access to an Iray G3 update will let me do even more - especially with the new cybernetic Synx products. :)
I agree! Cyclops Suit HD for Genesis 3 Male(s) is awesome, and I would love to see updated versions of the Bot Armour bundles, though I have already tweeked many of them for IRAY.

Alpha Scout will probably be purely cybernetic enhancements while Omega will be a full body armor set. Levels of detail will be determined by whether or not I can do the interface to the base body easily or not with Alpha.
I thinking about getting this as well as some Xurge's amours for animation purposes. Can someone who has any of these please let us know which ones have incorrect weighting (or weigthing that needs to be adjusted) and or any tearing when the characters are in certain potions?

I'm actually quite surprised at how few options there are for cubernetic limbs and so forth, in the Iray era! Especially stuff like cables to create the illusion of hair, for existing cybernetic characters.
I have a preliminary (very preliminary, mind you) face-plate geograft started, and I'm thinking on how to handle the fact it will cover about a third of the part of the head that is normally covered with hair.
Untextured face-plate prototype in the attached image.
