Gabriel's no angel

I just bought EF_Gabriel for M4 from the FASTGRAB, but after seemingly installing him succesfully. I can't seem to find how to get the morphs into M4.  (I installed manually by moving the content of the "Content" folder to the appropriate poser place(s) in my content structure and the content links are configured correctly.

I'm using Studio 4.8.0.59.   I can see the EF-PRODUCTS folder in my Studio's "Pose" menu.  I load M4 into an empty scene.  I select the Head and double click on the "!!!Head INJ" icon and nothing happens.
OK, so maybe I have to dial-in the morph pose for Gabriel, but for the life of me I cannot find anything that refers to Gabriel.  Believe me I've looked.  I'm a long time user of Studio and the old Poser so I'm familiar with the filesystem layout.  I also tried selecting the complete "Figure" of M4 and applying but still no results.

What am I missing here?

Please don't tell me to upgrade to a newer version of Studio unless you have specific information about it fixing this particular type of problem.

The "ReadMe" file for this product says it's compatible with DAZ Studio.

sometimes the old pose injection files didn't autoload the required morphs, might have to load all morphs,
or manually add the readscript lines

iirc, i bought that one on rdna.  ...

    AHAA!  PMD files.

fastest fix is to load him up in poser, then save him as a figure with 'not binary morph'.

unless there is a separate utility to convert pmd files to pz2.\

iirc - i think D3D had a binary morph editor in the rmp.  remember being able to human read the pmd files, can't remember exactly if it let save in non-binary format.  might be worth a looksie, epsecially if you have several characters as .pmd morphs.  don't think it was costly.

  • Try going into :  \Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ and run the DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat file.  Then load M4 and try again.  See if that fixes it.

  • Also, like Misty said - some older morphs don't have the "readscrip" lines in the pz2 INJ file and you have to inj the Morphs++ (required by this product) first, then apply the Gabriel morph.  Hopefully running the Batch works....but if not, this should. (as long as the Morphs++ and the Gabriel character are in the same Runtime....)

turns out the morphs are in pmd files.

trying to remember if the binary morph editor could convert to a pz2 non/binary format.

those readscript headers were the big difference between Vicky 4.1 and 4.2. iirc

there was a PMD injector for DS3. there was a link for a DS4.5 version but the site is reclaimed by squatters now.

Thanks for the tips, I tried executing the "DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat " file but still can't get it to work.

No worries, I'll just ask for a refund.  I have no time to dink around with DAZ product ideosyncracies.  Based on this and a couple of other recent problems I'll never bother buying any of those products from the newly absorbed company.  If DAZ can't bother to update the products that they dump into the DAZ catalog then they're shooting themselves in the foot and destroying any trust people still have with them.

Thanks for the save as a figire with "not binary morph" tip.  Now the saved pmd morph injected .cr2 loads into DS without the load delta error messages !

Heads up: OMG Betty and The Deadliest Mixer products use morphs stored in a Poser .pmd file too.

I would be extremely careful of anything that came from there that are possibly mismarked as supporting DAZ Studio 4.9, which is quite likely for a lot of the Poser products.
