VR is here now can we use Daz for this?
A lot of us will soon be srceaming to use das based products in a vr project. Some of us are already there. Do we have a right to market what we make if it's now in vr and not just a comic book?

Fine line here I think. Most VR is happening in games, but Daz makes it exceedingly difficult for game artists to use Daz products due to an expensive licencing scheme where you not only have to buy a special license from Daz but also from each PA. The result is really that only AAA game devs could afford these licenses. At the same time those are not going to use generic Daz products like this because they have their own armadas of artists and way too picky art directors. And then also these items aren't really game/realtime-ready anyway. Indies are going to go to the market places of Unity and Unreal 4 where they find game-ready content for way cheaper.
What do they consider a game? I don't really know. Do they consider all real-time content a game? Would something like a VR comic be considered a game? Or only if it can be interacted with by the reader/player? Either way I feel Daz is going to be completely outside of the loop when it comes to VR just as much as they have been for games unless they fundamentally change their approach. I'd recommend to start with removing game licenses entirely. It should be enough that people buy the content, no need to try and monetize the game industry when the result is that nobody uses your stuff.
as long as the mesh is not redistributed and you are using only 2D images or sprites, you are fine without a license. If you plan to include any DAZ mesh in a game engine for redistibution, then you do need a license.
I personally don't think DAZ cares if it is outside the loop when it comes to VR or games in general. I would think if they wanted to tap into that or any other market, they could/would.

Doesn't seem to me they want to ignore games. They just have a rather strange approach.
You can currently use DAZ Studio to create SKYBOXES (6 sided cubes with rendered images of your scene) that are fun to view through Google Cardboard.
