iam trying to to use my own logos on this jacket , the vendor sent me an email this what is says does anyone know how to do this , who can walk me through it thanks

hi if you know how to use photoshop its easy

you have to customize and replace these textures with your own logo without rename them

then apply the material SdeB base to the jacket

this the diagram he gave me , but iam very confused

Could you add wich product that is? What you write sounds as if there is an option to change the logo given with the product. Other that that I would use the Layered image editor (open from the surfaces tab of the jacket

It sounds pretty self explanitory to me - sounds like you need to replace those two textures with your own two custom textures. Once you create them in Photoshop, bring up the surfaces tab and replace the indicated textures with your newly created textures.

What you are trying to do is creating texture mask.

You should google how to make alpha channel on your application. I don't use Photoshop, so I don't know how to do it there. In GIMP, you need to select the active layer and right clck -> Alpha channel.

As sura_tc sais creating an Alpha channel is nothing you can do in DS. You have to use Gimp Photoshop or any other application usually used for photomanipulation. Locate the original texture jpg by mousing over the image (most propbably diffuse) of the prop in the surfaces folder. Open that image to your Gimp or other program and alter what you want to have as new.  Save the image from that application as a jpg format with a new name ( you don't want to loose the original) to a folder you can access from DS. It would make sense to save to the texture folder of the prop. then go back to ds open the surface tab of the prob and click on the image in diffuse then browse to you new version and replace the old one.

A texture mask is like tatoo on a texture. Black is ignored and white can be manipulated into different colors. You can basically put anything white on the black image and it will show up on render. You just need to follow its UV map. Anything outside of UV area will be completely ignored.

lasagnaman, I need to point out that a direct link to renderosity is not allowed in this forum, please remember for the future.

    I hope you succeed.

I've never heard that, are you sure, I thought that links were ok if requested.

The Alpha version referred to is a black and white image studio uses for opacity by the looks of it (he does say on the pictures "black and white" to illustrate that.)
