Looking at some of the items M4 and v4 in the shop, especially the clowns.

Need some strange characters in a project, so I thought maybe... some bad clowns.

Problem is - don't know what is included with a purchase.

The way things are explained I don't get it.  I know doing a lot of extra work isn't in my interest. SO...if I can poke on a head, or do some simple things to get a complete character it might make sense.

Maybe someone can answer...Do we get a complete are several complete characters and then use heads, or do we get heads and some morphs to change bodies?

Or something else?

WIth the Jiggerman do we get the clothing shown in the pictures? Or what do we get with the content?

http://www.daz3d.com/7-deadly

The 7 deadly icludes 3 body morphs does that mean bodies like it says at the bottom of the page, or some morph sliders?

http://www.daz3d.com/omgbettys

The omgbettys says

Betty Characters, 11 head and neck morphs, 4 whole body morphs.- what does this mean?

I guess this pretty well sums it up. Since I have never used RuntimeDNA for content I am not sure what is meant.

The price looks good for these items, since they will not be prominent characters in my project.

Yet, I don't want to have to spend a half day working with a character to make it work.

Yes, I can apply for a refund...I don't like that practice.  I  prefer to get a good understanding before purchase and not waste time with content that doesn't work, because I didn't pay attention to details when I purchased.

I would appreciate to read anything on this, especially from anyone who has or is using any of the linked items.

Of the ones you listed, it looks like Jiggerman is the only one that comes with textures. The others are morph packs. Where it lists head/neck and body morphs separately, you can mix and match those. A body morph may or may not have a "master" dial that changes the whole thing. Head morphs usually do tho. It looks like for textures for the M4 clowns, Stan is a good place to start. I have no idea where the V4 Bettys textures can be found. Unless the product specifically lists textures, like on Stan, then it is a morph set only. Clothes are almost never included, unless a set specifically says so, or lists a second skin option as included. It does look like Stan comes with hair, if you can call it that... wink

Edit: for the Bettys, it looks like the Betty character has all the textures you need.

You can always use wayback machine to open an older copy of runtimedna, that still has some more information on these products.

For the M4 products use http://web.archive.org/web/20160111210816/http://www.runtimedna.com/Michael-4-Characters/

For the V4 products use http://web.archive.org/web/20160115230844/http://www.runtimedna.com/Victoria-4-Characters

The links go to a sitecopy from January I think, it will load quite slow, but at least the pages are intact and you can open. Search doesn't work, so you have to click through the pages. Have an eye on 'Additional Notes' especially, it sometimes says without textures etc.

  • If you are looking for clown textures, Mortemvetus (the good folks who made Stan) periodically release texture add-ons for the character. Many of them are freebies that seamlessly match up with Stan's base textures, although they can be used with different M4 characters if you wish and want to take the time to muck around in photoshop to soften the texture boundaries. You can find the freebies on Mortemvetus' personal website.

Stan was quite the hit at RuntimeDNA and other vendors introduced various addons of their own to piggyback on Stan's success, mainly new head and body shapes (but no textures).

Speaking as a guy who has rendered way too many creepy clown images to count, I encourage you to start off with Stan from RDNA or RawArt's The Clown Clan (which is more Joker themed). Experiment and apply those textures to any M4 morphs you can get your hands on, including freebies available at sharecg.com. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how a formerly scrawny or dumpy M4 morph that left you uninspired when clad in a handsome texture will look when wearing hellacious circus makeup.

Hi Rampart!  Stan (by MortemVetus) is now available at Daz and is in the current sale: http://www.daz3d.com/stan  there are also additional textures here: http://www.daz3d.com/facelift-for-stan  Brahann's The Seven Deadly Clowns and The Deadliest Mixer are, I believe additional morphs shown using the Stan textures.  His OMG The Bettys are morphs using MortemVetus's Betty character, also in the sale: http://www.daz3d.com/betty

Brahann's The Jiggerman is a separate character with morphs and textures.  -Cathy

Freebie add-ons for Stan were also available at RDNA and I got them there. Interestingly they were now placed in my DAZ account Product Library but aren't available in the store.
