Ayleth for G3F -- What about the hair?

ScavengerScavenger Posts: 2,674

I like the looks of the new Ayleth dress.  If someone has gotten it though, what about hair under it's hood?

I've found hoods and hats to be a particular pain area with hair sticking out all over needing post work to fix it.

How does Ayleth handle it?

I got it at about three this morning.  Long story short, the dog woke me up.

I loaded up the dress, but not the hood.  I think it's just a hood though, maybe w/morphs.

    Gimme a minute, and I'll check. :-)

Oh, good lord.   There's enough morphs on that hood to cover the Free Spirit Hair, I think.  And that is one head full of hair.

I believe I counted close to twenty hood morphs.  Maybe a few less.  Early, not caffeinated yet. :-)

Don't think you have any worries, but perhaps somebody else could back me up on that?

I am so glad somebody decided to make a historic-style dress.  Thank you, Wild Designs.

Yeah, the hood fits almost every hair I threw at it.

If you have problems with hats I can suggest the tottally hipster outfit. It has a hat fixer that I now use with all the hats I own. I don't know if there's anything similar out there but I'd really like to know.

    Can you describe "hat fixer"?

The problem I have is that hair should morph to fit the hat/hood, not the hood to the hair. :(

Is that even possible?  The hair has to parent to a character, right?  Else I'm thinking on the wrong track.

I don't have it yet, but I think SimTenero's Shape Reprojector should work to create a morph that would shape the hair to the hood...

Oh.  Ok. smiley  Not familiar w/that particular gadget.  I passed on that one because it looked like I might have the reproject capability in a modeler.  Not that much modeling gets done anymore.

    Thank you. :-)

You're probably right, but I've yet to go down that rabbit hole, (modeling.) DS has taken me far afield as it is... lol (Not to mention, emptying my bank accounts...)

Use a deformer or 2, works great for getting hair to fit under hats/hoods. You could even use the geometry editor and just hide any parts outside the hood.

I've been avoiding the commercial thread on the Reprojector, just because I know it will make me want it even more. Found this post on using it for "Hats and Hair!"

    There's also this

    http://www.daz3d.com/hat-and-hair-helper-genesis-2

It's for Genesis 2, but it autofits to Genesis 3 just fine.

That sounded like a SickleYield creation even before the page loaded to confirm it. ;)

You just load the hatfixer to the character and then load the hair. The hat fixer has parameters to deform the hair to fit under hair. Pretty easy.

Sure, it's Southern Nights for Genesis 3 by Rhiannon in the other store.

It's made for genesis 2 so it should work, see quote below
