Will 4.8 render 4.9 skins correctly?

I'm guessing most PAs are now optimising their skin shaders for DS 4.9. So my question is, does that mean 4.8 users like me will not get correct results from skin shaders optimised for 4.9?

Some products (like Daz Originals Base Characters for G3) come with skin settings for both DS 4.8 and DS 4.9. The 4.8 skins are labeled "legacy". Also, V3Digitimes Iray Smart Skin Converter for Genesis 3  and the corresponding one for Genesis 2 will recognize whether you are running 4.8 or 4.9 and convert accordingly - very clever. You can also try just adjusting the Skin, Lips, and Nails SSS Reflectance Tint to a bluer color for 4.8 compatibility.

Thanks barbult. I have noticed some strange redness so a blue tint should help with that.

The base colour effects will influence it. If it is Scatter Only less of a need to change it. Whereas, if its set to Scatter and Transmit, it will definitely need changing.

A hint of blue, the right amount might need altering to suite the shader presets, and to get just what you want. In 4.9 the tint is likely to be an amount or red; occasionally white, and even occasionally blue; the blue tint can be used to lighten the skin.
