My Characters Are Now Jacked Up - Please Help!

I've recently bought and installed the G2F morphs bundle and now all my G2F characters are jacked up! :(

My sweet skinny elf now looks like an old hag elf.

My skinny elf before:

How she looks now:

WTH?

And my girl "M" looks like she's gained about 75 pounds:

My curvier elf has gotten a lot wider too:

What's caused this? How can I fix it? All of my favorite characters are like this - messed up. These characters were lovingly made with freebie morphs from sharecg, as for the longest time I couldn't afford the morphs from the shop. Did some of the new morphs over-ride the freebie morphs? How can I get my characters back to the way they where? Please help, it's heart breaking to see my beloved characters looking so messed up. :(

Looks like you installed some donuts and pastries

maybe a data file that clashes? You would need to look what the freebie files contained in a separate zip folder extraction

I don't know what that is, how do you do it?

unzip it to a folder on your desktop and look what files are in it

    see if are any esp in {your drive):\My Library\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base

they should not be there, some freebie makers put things odd places and would cause issues

Oh gosh, I've downloaded so many freebies I wouldn't even know where to find them - if I even still have the Zip folders, which I doubt I still have.

I wouldn't know which morphs are supposed to be there and which aren't.

...Sounds like I might be screwed. Ahhhhh :( My poor characters. I need to try and figure this out. At this point I'm tempted to try uninstalling the G2F morphs bundle and seeing if that fixes it.

Have you tried looking at the currently used morphs in the parameter tab? If you had used a character preset that referenced the genesis 2 morphs (that you previously didn't have but are now activated) it would explain the change in the figures. Just zero them and they should look as they did before (make sure to just zero the morphs in the bundle, if you zero anything else, it will change the character). Freebies that referenced said morphs would cause the same problem.

When you put these shapes together?  Are you saving them to apply later?  How are you saving them, if you are?  Does the base figure still load correctly?

    LMAO!

I hope you get it fixed. I am very cautious about using freebies. many users mean well with them, but it's been my expereience they didn't know what they are doing and this can wreck your runtimes.

Can you not uninstall the G2F morph bundle that you installed and see if your characters go back to how they should look? Then install each G2F morph you bought one by one to see which one is causing the issue? That might be the only way to find out.

It does sound like you may have some morphs in the parameters tab that are acting up like Uthgaurd stated. I would start there because that has happened to me before as well and it was always something that wasn't zeroed out.  I had an eyelid (just one) on G3m that was closed and wouldn't open no matter what I did.  I finally tracked it down in the parameters tab.

This reminds me of a time when an update to Grand Theft Auto V online came out which had a bug that gave many of the player's female characters man heads.  People were understandably upset but the pictures were unintentionally hiflarious.  <p>

Sorry to chuckle at your jacked G2F. If I had to guess, since you installed G2F morphs pack and it began your issue, there were probably some morphs from that which were dialed in on whatever free characters you were using but since you didn't have them, they had no effect. As soon as you added the morphs, you got ... this.  I would suggest selecting G2F and looking at the "currently used" and seeing which morphs from the body morphs pack you just installed are active. Those may be your culprits.

  • Aside from the "currently used" section, also look through the rest of the morphs for anything that is defaulting to 1 / 100%.  I've got a glitch in mine that loads G2F with Stacia applied to head and body (but not 'overall') that says 100% but doesn't show up in currently used.  You might have something similar happening in the hips area.

Thank you so much for the support and suggestions everyone! I figured it out!

It turns out that all my effected characters had two freebie characters dialed into them. Once I dailed them out, my characters are back to normal!

YAY YAY YAY!! My characters are saved! :D

I really apprecaite everyone's suggestions, it helped me to narrow down what the issues where. Thanks guys! :D The girls and I appreciate the help!
