The morphs were about the only thing I had for Genesis 3 M & F for a long time.
a new figure multiple shaping morphs are the best first asset followed by skins and obviously clothes, hair.
Characters with FBM sit fairly low on my priorities.
I grabbed the Pro bundle right away. The functionality of Kenji 7 is too high for me not to. Some of the outfits are amazing, and i plan on using them. With the launch of Kenji, we got some geat new hairstyles. I will be using his body type on Gen3M, as it is more in line with the characters for my graphic novel (not musclebound lunkheads, more realistic everyday people), and the new outfits will go nicely with iRay.
Excited for this character, and so glad it launched after my pay went in!
What does FBM mean?
I do have ONE G3 male. NO morphs for G3 male or female though. And I don't even have morphs for G2 females. I'm keeping an eye on them though - I was able to snag the G2 male morphs bundle super cheap (less than $3.00) during the G2M bundle sale a week ago. I'm hoping to see a sale almost as good for the G2 female morphs and eventually the G3 male and female morphs. I'm on here every day waiting for big sales like that bundle sale (that was A-May-Zing! lol).
I'm not sure that G3 morphs will go that cheap for a long time, but I'll definitely jump on it if they go on a really good sale (assuming I have the money at the time lol). My general rule of thumb is I don't buy anything unless it's at least 60% off (usually has to get down to at least 70% off). That's just my rule since I'm a "starving artist". lol That usaually means I have to be very very patient.
FBM = Full Body Morph. That one is pretty easy, but there's a lot of alphabet soup in this hobby. (Well, in most hobbies, to be honest. And the soup doesn't taste the same or even similar in different ones.)
hahah I've noticed! I finally got LAMH down (after having to ask at least twice what it stands for lol). Good thing I like soup! :P
A few months ago they offered V7 and the head and body morphs for female at like 90% off or something ridiculous so I wouldn't be too unsurprised if it happens again, though I wouldn't actually wait for it.
Actually it might have been buy a new release and get them free... I don't really remember. Either way it was nuts.
I think it was both, actually.
Oh man, that would be fantastic! Here's hoping that a sale like that comes around again soon. :) I do have a few freebie G3 morphs which makes waiting for the offical morphs not quite so painful. Though I know I'll be able to do a lot more with the offical morphs. I'm looking forward to being able to make some lovely custom G3 characters.
Yes sorry full body morphs like M7, Leo, Kenji for example, usually one is better off buying a bundle for other stuff like clothes hair poses than just the character alone, I did grab George though by himself as just so different and can be dialled in with the other morphs with a far more dramatic result than most.
I'm fairly new to Avatar/Korra too, friend of mine recommended it about a year ago, telling me to absolutely avoid the movie but that the tv show was the 'Game of Thrones' of kid's anime. (I would probably wouldn't have described it that way myself, perhaps HunterXHunter would better fit that label, but I had never seen any anime of any kind before watching Avatar. Afterwards, since I'm perfectly willing to read subtitles, I discovered a whole new world of excellent and inventive storytelling in that format that was out there).
I enjoyed Legend of Korra quite a bit, but for me Avatar/Airbender was on a whole different level; the only cartoon series that's ever moved me to tears (the episode where Zuko's Uncle is commemorating his son's death gets me every time). Very few tv shows do I 'have to have', but I own all 3 seasons of Avatar, and it sits right next to Game of Thrones, Firefly, and my other 'grown up' favorites. Really great show, and wouldn't at all mind seeing more daz characters that look like the could fit right into that universe, like Kenji definitely does.
Sure can. See Divamakeup's post on the prior page, because with Valzheimer's clones you can certainly put Genesis3 clothes onto Genesis2 characters.
For myself since I prefer Genesis1, I'm going to be using Sickleyield's clones to turn Genesis3 clothes into Genesis1 clothes.
Nowadays, no matter what your figure of choice is, you can pretty much fit any clothing onto it (if you have the right clone plugin
)
Let's not forget that there's a HUGE potential for mix-n-match animals, such as turtleducks, deercats, polarbeardogs, dragonbirds, and lionturtles, just to name a few. And what the heck is a fireferret anyway?
Not so fond of the Skybison design, with all six legs looking like arms, but not sure how I'd do them differently if I were given the task. At least Naga had forelegs and hindlegs.
I did notice that a lot of the clothing in both series' could be approximated with many of DAZ's more recent offerings.
Thanks! Those should do nicely. I hadn't seen those before. I usually don't like to mix and match generations much but feel like I'm in an inbetween stage.
I get a strong Final Fantasy vibe from him. Nice character, not my thing though but I hope he's popular and does well : )
Hair has a lot more impact than you think; j cade's render shows it well.
Looks like mix between Lee Majors and Keano Reeves in that render
I'd say it was definitely intended - FFVII is a big influence, one can tell - at least with some of Kenji's items like at least one of the outfits, hair, and one of the pose sets.
It strikes me that Kenji is unique, there aren't really any other male figures in that category/niche, though I'm not sure exactly what to call it... maybe 'realistic anime'? I can see several female figures that would fit in that niche pretty well, like Aiko 5, Ysbeau 6, Aiko 7, but not really any other male figures that are close. Certainly not Hiro, as an example.
Actually it's striking how Hiro 5 and Aiko 5 don't really match up at all. Hiro seems to match up much more with Hitomi (maybe that's intentional?), and Hiro through his various iterations has always been very decidely cartoony-anime style.
But I think that's one of the main attractions to Kenji for me, we just don't have any males figures like him at all that I can think of.
Very Final Fantasy indeed, I love him! This is easily one of my favorite pro bundles to date. Here is Kenji with 50% kenji head and Gianni head, and shape shift morphs for the body.
Wow! VERY NICE!!
Excellent! And here I never liked Gianni before... :)
Well I got off the fence and made my first ever Genesis3 purchase, picking up the Kenji starter bundle. I also picked up the Gen X2 latest plugins for Genesis3, but I must be doing something wrong, since I keep trying to transfer the shape to Genesis1 but the only thing that seems to actually transfer is the belly button. I've been studying the documentation for GenX2 but not sure where I'm going wrong (I already had GenX2 and the plugin for Genesis2, so I should have all I need in the tool to make this work), I'll keep tinkering, and may end up having to post a query for help on the GenX2 thread. But I'm stoked to have Kenji in my possession, even if I haven't quite figured how to get him onto my Genesis1 yet.
Purchased the Kenji 7 Pro bundle last night and the genx2 plugin for Genesis 3 this morning. I actually like the Kenji 7 more than any of the other Genesis 3 males I have so far. I didn't think I would but overall the build (even with some muscle tone added) looks better to me. I threw on some swimwear from another Genesis 3 male and changed the transparency color and base skin color as well as used the sun-sky mode for lighting witth a setting of 3 pm on June 16th. I am attaching the results.
Congratulations on the move to G3! I think you'll be happy. I've enjoyed the small out of G3 content I have and definitely see myself moving forward with using more and more G3 content. I've been insanely happy with Victoria 7 and hope to get some of the G3F and G3M morphs as soon as they go on sale (assuming I have the money at the time lol). :)
As for the GenX2, from what I've read about the product, in order to go to G3 you need all three of these products:
http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2
http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2
http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-3
Sadly I can't afford to go that route unless these go on a deep deep sale some day.
Problem is me and Jon work in Carrara that is not able to use G3 yet.
He reminds me most of Hiro 3 Realistic.. which is just dandy. =)
Indeed :) But not really so much of a problem though since til Kenji I wasn't very keen on G3. But I do really like Kenji quite a bit, he became 'must have'. We'll see how he looks in Carrara Octane, if I can just get the base shape to transfer.
I do have all three of those gen X2 products/addons, so I should have everything I need. And I can easily put Sasori (a Kenji character morph) onto my Genesis1, ironically, but haven't yet been able how to put the base Kenji7 shape on my Gen1 yet. I'm surely doing something knuckleheaded...
Hiro 3 realistic? Didn't realize there was a realistic morph for Hiro3, had to go look but couldn't find anything that seemed to show him in the store. Just saw that Hiro 4 has a realistic morph in the list on the product page, though I don't know if I've ever seen a pic showing what it was like. Don't know if Hiro 5 might have a realistic morph either but didn't see one listed. Was there ever a Hiro 6?
Edit: Found a product that looks like it shows Hiro 4 realistic version: http://www.daz3d.com/hiro-4-realistic-textures
I loved working with Aiko 3 Realistic and Hiro 3 Realistic but they had serious smiling issues! LOL Expressions back in the day were what they were. You saw allot of products, esp for Aiko 3 but rarely saw her smiling in the promos because it just looked odd!
