WHAT DOES "FWSA" mean or stand for?

I've tried searching this like a billion times but I've always wondered what that actually means lol.

    I think it is an abbreviation for the collaboration between Fred Winkler Art and Sabby

    It's just a mnemonic for the PA's who make characters: Fred Winkler Art and Sabby

    ETA: Oops, cross post!

    You'll also see characters with names beginning FW (= Fred Winkler Art only), FWF (= Fred Winkler Art and Fisty&Darc), LYFW (= Lyonesse and FWA), FWKJ (= FWA and Kayjay) and a few others.

    AHHHH, okay, thank you! I wouldn't have guessed that on my own. I thought it was for characters that are split off from characters that are split off from a base.

    So, like, Genesis 3, for example -> Victoria 7 -> FWSA characters lol

    It's helpful should two vendors decide to make a character with the same name.  It doesn't happen often, but it does happen, especially if they're sold at different brokerages, or one's a freebie from ShareCG or something.  It makes it less likely that the two sets of files will overwrite each other by having vendor folders, or at least Vendor ID's as part of the folder naming.

    Just for info here is a couple of other mnemonics you may encounter

    BRC = Black Rose Collection (some but far from all of Jack Tomlin's stuff)

    BWC = Bald Wizards Club (most if not all of which are from Sedor)

    AS = Aeon-Soul/Aery Soul

    LY = Lioness

    VYK = vyktoria

    We do it because it makes it easier to identify our products when they go on sale AND, most importantly, it's easier in our workflow when our products are grouped together.

    It also helps if (like me) you tend to start looking at the content via the artist's style rather than what it is specifically. e.g. "Jade" means nothing much to me, but "FWSA Jade" gives certain expectations about the quality and style of the figure before I've even seen it and so makes me pay attention more.

    Not very relevant to this thread, but an important one to know... SHIHARBIMP: Send Help I Have A Rabid Badger In My Pants.

    Every now and then you may notice someone use that abbreviation before trailing off... Little is know as to how the badgers get into their victims pants and what their ultimate motives are, but it is important to know the signs and report the incident to the appropriate authorities.

    Which would probably not be anyone at DAZ... Quite frankly I don't know who you should tell... But I just thought I'd bring it up.

    Knowing is half the battle.

    I think.

    lol Duely noted. I'm so glad you told me. :P You could have just saved a life right there.

    Ah, lets not forget one of my all time favorites:  IDG not to be confused with IGD.  IDG is the acronym that InaneGlory and DestinysGarden use on the things on which they collaborate, mostly great light sets with lots of texture options for the backdrops.

    IGD is for Islandgirl's stuff, mostly great poses.  And, sometimes InaneGlory has IG on his products and DestinysGarden has DG on hers for when they have solo products.

    FWSA is already in use by the We As Members of the North Western Icelandic Illuminati Wedgiers and Wimpy's Hamburger Preservation Reenactors Who Still Live In Our Parents Basement recognizes as "freezing winds, smelly armpits."

    unfortunately the acronym WAMOTNWIIWAWHPRWSLIOPB was already taken by an even more confusing group "Walrus at midnight, oh the noodles want it invisible when Albert whines histrionically perusing real whale slipper lamenting ostentatiously peter billingly."

    Please make a note.

    Haha sorry, guilty! I have been doing this so long it wasnt really a 'thing' to put a prefix before character names really so i just never got in the habit of it. Also my name kinda sucks to abbreviate lol. I dont like anything Ive come up with XD

    I couldn't think of anything good either so I've just taken to memorising all of them >.> It does help that you use the same pretty stylings for the character settings buttons. And that even though I have a lot of your characters most of them are pretty high on my goto list so I remember them pretty well xD

    I don't know if I've asked this before and forgotten but are you SilverCountess as well?

  • DestinysGardenDestinysGarden Posts: 2,553

    Silver is the Silver half of the Silver/Countess duo. So yup, that's her. I don't know how they could abbreviate it though. SICO sounds a bit daft, LOL.

  • lx_2807502lx_2807502 Posts: 2,996

    Ohh it's two people. I have some older stuff that's Silver / SilverCountess / Countess and I figured it might just be the same person. Thanks!

    SICO sounds like some sort of robot that will take over the world. Or some sort of sports institute that is developing a "health supplement" that transforms people into robots that take over the world~

    COSI?  Or "Etched Silver", as so many of the partnership's products seem to be people with tattoos.
