Project EYEray: Lookin' Good!

Not much buzz about Project EYEray, so I thought I post a crop from a recent render.

I stopped the render at 72% convergence, Quality 2. This is Willow from Mihrelle with Project EYEray eyes. Definitely some of the best I have seen. Lot's of options.

Yes, EYEray is fantastic :D I refrain from saying more, because I don't want to fangirl out. :D

No need to refrain. We all have PA's that we really like / admire / make offerings to / etc etc. devil

Ya this was an instant buy, I have the other sets for the previous generations, I'm guessing it's continuing the line anyway lol

I haven't played with it yet. Will have to tonight. So much to enjoy so little time. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes this was an insta buy for me as well although I haven't had a chance to try it.  June was a very busy month product wise.  Too much yummy stuff came out, not enough spare time to try it all

Say's it's a merchant resource but I'm not sure to what extent.  Can the textures be used in other projects or what?  I can't even find a read me or anything about what are the can and can not usage!  frown

It's inspiring me to take a good look at the older products. Does Eyeris and Subsurface convert usefully to Iray?

Subsurface, yes. If you've used the Daz Uber converter thing on a later Genesis 2 human textures, chances are that the texture was using AoA Subsurface. (And if you're talking about Dimension Theory's new Subsurface, that already is an Iray shader.)

Eyeris ... I don't know. I actually stopped using Eyeris once Awesome Eyes came out, because something about Eyeris would cause the shader brick to fail about a third of the time, and I'd wind up with blank glowing white eyes. It's a custom shader, so I suspect Daz Uber has no idea what to do with it.

Same here.  I bought it, but haven't had a chance to really play with it yet.  It does look good, though!  I'll have to make sure to use it on my next render.

I was just thinking this morning about how happy this product makes me. Then I see your thread, fastbike1. I really needed this, and I'm so glad Dimension Theory made it. I was using Emma&Jordi's eyes on almost every character (along with Gia 7's) because they look so great, but they have this fuzzy black ring around the irises that won't go away with the correction morphs. It's not terrible; it's just that I don't want all the characters to have it. But now, thanks to EYEray, I have tons of colors and looks with the photorealism visual cues that trick the mind. Yes!

One of the best parts is that you won't be faking the catchlight. If you have a light source that directly impinges the Iris, you will get a catchlight. Point, disc, rectangular, whatever. Exactly as you would in an actual studio portrait.

Don't know how I missed this, but now in wishlist.
