Reality question

Hello everyone.

So ive started trying to use Reality, It renders for me, alot faster than Daz / Iray, But with Iray i can make beautiful things, with glass and mirrors and shiney metals. But when i make a scene indaz, send it over to reality for rendering, Half the fancy textures and shadors i used to make a scene perfect in DAZ, dont seem to translate and get a simple white matte / textureless appearence or are just blank (Lookin at you mirror shader). How can I tell Reality to use the shaders and textures i already selected in DAZ?

If you want a mirror, then Reality has a mirror 'material', just convert the relevant material zone.  For other stuff it would depend on the shader in question; probably more work needed if they are custom shaders but most basic stuff should get carried over (diffuse, etc.) it's then 'just' a matter of dealing with them in Reality to produce the desired result.

Okay, I use a few shader packs from here and from Renderosity for like, scales, metals to create unique appearences of say armor, clothing ect, Mesh Magic for example. But when imported over to Reality it comes out grey and featureless instead of awesomely shiney with glowmaps. Reality cant access the library or jus tport it over exactly??

You might want to try asking about shaders over at the reality forums, Paolo (the creator of reality) is usually quick to help out.

Most shaders don't translate over to Luxrender. You will have to set up quite a bit yourself using Luxrender materials. As long as you have an actual texture, you can apply luxrender shaders to it. The biggest problem with users that are used to IRAY is there are so many material presets and as such avialiable for IRAY, most users are used to click and render instead of having to set them up themselves.

all rendering engines do things a bit differently so expect some of the things to convert rather well and others to require you to ge the results you want vs what the computer interpreted them as.

Reality will not convert all surface shaders into Lux Render properly.  Most surfaces have to be setup in the Reality interface before sending it to Lux.  Some skins convert automatically but only cause its been programmed that way.

Products sold here are either optimized for rendering in Iray and/or 3Delight.  The moment you send it to a different render engine you're stuck setting up surfaces on your own.  Not a bad learning experiance but it all depends on what you really want to spend your time doing.

Reality definitely has a problem with Iray, or 3Delight when it comes to lips.
