iRay and Eyes

Any help in making V4/M4's eyes to look good in iRay would be much appreicated. There are many threads about skin setting but I don't know where to look to get help in iray settings for the eyes in older models such as V4/M4.

Basically, the same rules apply for all eyes.

Get rid of reflection maps. Use the Water-Thin shader on the Tears and Cornea. Make sure that your figure is looking at something that can be reflected in the eyes.

What you also can do is, have a look at one of the G2 or G3 eyes when you have an Iray skin applied, and work from those settings. You can then see by trail and error what works best for your characters.

If you want to spend money, I can highly recommend this product: http://www.daz3d.com/iray-converter-for-generation-4

Also remove any diffuse maps from the cornea. I see that all the time...why? I have no idea.

Also set cornea bulge morphs if you have access to them

I think it comes from a lot of older fake reflection stuff. What's really annoying is when reflections are baked into the iris, because that's basically unusable if you are doing even vaguely realistic stuff.

Water thin shader, got it. I have some good eye maps, its just comes off as a frosted glass instead of clear whenever I use the eye presets in iray converter. Love the converter on skin, though, just trying to get the eyes to look right.

BTW, What render settings to you use? My eyes always look grainy compare to the rest of the render. I know it takes longer to render reflective material in iray but I haven't seen much improvement when ever I play with the render settings.

    Thanks!
