About Camera presets included with products

When an item includes different camera angles, is the camera set up so the product is at 0,0,0,?  I have had sets where I would look at the cameras included and there might be several of them, but some would just point at a blank wall or just at the floor or no where particular. Are these just setup cameras that were forgotten to be deleted when the set was made?  I don't have an example of such a set at the moment as I am at work.

Alot of those cameras were setup in Poser... and Poser cameras really don't translate very well to Studio cameras.  I know what you mean...its awful sometimes.

That explains quite a bit, I have found after discovering the wonky camera presets when I look at a new prop to buy and it says it includes camera presets I don't really see that as a plus that would motivate me to buy a product

Are they Poser sets? Those have, or at least had in previopus versions, a set range of cameras so some of them may well be not meaningful - though I have not found reading Poser cameras into DS reliable anyway.

Look at almost any of the Dream Home cameras...

Using the updated versions with .duf files? I just tried the Great Room and its cameras seemed sensible.

I'd have to look again at which ones, but I know I mostly ignore them because they are almost always outside the room, looking at a wall.

I don't use the cameras because I prefer moving the set to the character's location at zero than moving character to the camera

You could always load the cameras and parent them to the room before moving it.

I will have to check when I get home if they were poser or not, but the dreamhouse set was one I do recall where some cameras were wonky
