Is Dynamic Clothing Control Broken in DAZ?
in The Commons
I purchased this a while ago and it does not show up in my plugins anymore.
I can't manipulate any physics settings.

OK...even stranger....
I did a reboot and started up DAZ and now the basic plugin is gone as well...
WTF???
My best guess is that you do not have the version that matches your current version of studio. That can cause issues with the basic plug in as well
Not according to my downloads folder:
The versions for DAZ 4.9 are there.

Just "4.9" isn't enough, you must make sure you're looking at the complete version number (four numbers separated by periods) and confirm that the last two numbers match. E.g. the current D|S version is 4.9.2.70 and the matching dynamic plugin version is 1.6.2.70 — this is updated every time a new D|S version comes out, and if your plugin doesn't match, it will not work.
I have had the dynamic clothing plug in tab disappear on me in the past. The easiest fix is to use DIM to uninstall the plug-in and then re-install. After that restart DS, and you should see it
Also, you will need to reinstall the control plug-in after installing DS - if you check both the application and the plug-ins to isntall in DIM it's likely that the (much smaller) plug-ins will install before DS itself, and then the control plug-in will be overwritten by the basic.
OK, then why don't I see an update for this version in my DIM?
The crazy thing is, I was using this yesterday and it was working. I just noticed it was gone today, when I went to fix a drape, and I had no Physics control.
The only thing I did was turn the computer off and restart it. I did not install anything new or uninstall anything.

This seems to be the fix!
Thanks all!

Well, I have the plugin back, but things are not working like they did. I cecked all my settings and clicked drape, and it is moving slower than I have ever seen it.
I waited 15 mins to see it drap 5 frames. That's just crazy. This drape is only 45 frames long and it used to complete in under a minute.
Keep in mind this is a drape I've done previously .
Something is not right.
JD
No, that doesn't sound right. I've never had that issue however so I've got no suggestion for a fix.
It is the number of polygons in the draped item that can slow things down, so high poly items drape a lot slower. However, if you are saying that the same item draped faster before, that is odd. Were you applying the same collision items each time?
Self collision will make a difference, so if that was added, it would increase it.
