Saving as Figure/Prop Assets crashes Studio???

Posting to see if anyone else is having this issue before I go and file a support ticket. I've been trying to save M4 clothing that I auto-fitted to Genesis and try and save it so that I can use it on other figures. The auto-fit part works great but when I go and "Save As>Support Asset>Figure/Prop Assets", and I select where I'm saving it (People>Genesis>Clothing) and name the file, when I hit "Save/OK", Studio crashes. Nothing gets added to the log file so I have no idea what caused the crash. As far as I know I'm running the latest version of Studio Pro. I'm running the 64-bit version on OSX (latest version). The Figure/Prop option was working great before I upgraded to the latest Studio version. Doesnt seem to be just a Mac thing either as I've also experienced the same issue on my Windows 7 laptop. And it also has the latest version of Studio (Win 64-bit). Is there a solution or workaround. So far the only thing I've been able to do is save the clothing as a character preset. I have yet to see if it will actually work when I pose my character.

A crash, at least a reproducible crash, is always worth reporting. However I haven't heard any other reprots of that behaviour so it may be an issue unique, or nearly, to you. Where is the Daz Studio content directory that is listed at the top of the options dialogue when you save - my first suspicion would be that there's some kind of access permission issue when DS tries to write to it.
On both systems the library is on the main hard drive. How can I check if DS has access permission to write to the library? The Mac was able to do the Figure/Prop Asset thing up until I upgraded to latest version of DS. The windows I'm not sure because I didnt do the process on that system that often. On the windows laptop in the previous version when I would try this DS would complain about not knowing what to save the file as even though I had filled a file name every time. With the upgrade both versions crash the system. And what's even more interesting that in order to do the "Character preset" work around, I have to attempt to do the "Figure/Prop" thing, let DS crash, boot back up, load the scene again, and then save as "Character preset" fo the clothing item. Could there be an issue with my Poser runtime, where I'm pulling the clothes to add to the scene, being on an external hard drive be an issue? Sorry if I'm rambling.
Ok I've tried putting the files in question into a mapped directory that is physically on my main hard drive. I made one attempt with having the Poser content in folder in the Applications folder on my Mac. Mapped DS so that particular Poser format directory was listed. Loaded a Genesis figure, applied an M4 shirt, did the auto-fit, and attempted to save. Got as far as naming the file and saving it and DS crashed. Second attempt was made with a folder being in the same "shared" directory as all of my other DS content and remapped using Content Manager (as before). Did same procedure as before for figure set-up and it crashed again. Do I have to have a Postgre SQL CMS connection for this to work? The Mac is a work computer and any program that tries to access the internet has be approved by IT to let the program have access. The only other option is to close the anti-virus program. Doesnt make sense to shut it down because it was running under the previous DS version and I had no issue with saving Figure/Prop assets. What has changed in DS that FIgure/Prop assets is having issues?
If the character preset is working after the crash that sounds as if the asset files are being created. Yes, DS would try to add the files to the CMS so that may well be the issue - PostgreSQL and DS don't need Internet access, they just need to be able tot alk to each other on the local machine though I can imagien IT may be twitchy even about that. Still, even if that is the root of the issue it shouldn't cause a crash so please report the problem with steps to reproduce (including the fact that you don't have a connection to PostgreSQL).
Never reported a bug. How do I do that?
Ok. On a whim, I went and installed the PostgrelSQL CMS. I thought I had installed it but apparently I had not. Why doesnt DIM automatically install this when the upgrade for DS is installed? After installation I tried the clothing thing again. This time everything worked and no crashs. I'll have to try installing PostgrelSQL CMS on the PC and see if that solved the issue there as well.
Bug reports are made via a support ticket for Techncial Support: http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us
Ok. Will file away for future reference. Seems installing the PostgreSQL CMS thing solved the problem on both platforms.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
