Is anyone using Nvidia GTX 1070 for Daz Studio renders?

Hello all, I'm looking at getting a new graphics card and am wondering if this would be good for DS. It's cheaper than the 970/980, and with 8GB, specs look good but I'm not a graphics card boffin so am wondering if there are any issues with it being Pascal or whatever the latest thing is:) Any input would be appeciated.

The new Pascal cards (i.e the 1070/1080) won't be supported for Iray until sometime in August or September at the earliest. I'm not sure whether it's just a matter of updating CUDA support or whether Iray will need updating as well.
Well, I have one, got it on monday, mounted it, tested, overclocked... but, so far, no Iray support.
Unveliable I know, I ordered mine without even searching for Iray support, I though that a Nvidia card, would have support for Nvidia render engines and all the other thingies, but nope, they focused on the VR and gaming. They say, that on the Siggrahph, these new cards, should have Iray support, if you don't know it, will be hold, if I remember correctly, on 24-28 july, so, still a month of cpu rendering for all the 10x owners.
If you have a decent pc, you can do single character full equiped, in about 40mins.
So, basicaly, no one knows how will perform the 10x cards on rendering. On gaming, the 1070 is like a 980ti for what I've seen on comparations, but on rendering... don't know.
Pros, it's cheaper than the equal (eventhough we don't know if that it's true also on Iray), 9x gen card, and with a TDP of 150 versus 250, I can overclock it to the max, same the cpu, and with my 550w Corsair, I have no issues with testing, stressing, or gaming.
Cons: So far, the shortage on Iray support, but as I've said, in less than a month, we should have working Iray drivers.
Thanks so much for the feedback!:) I was considering getting this but with no Iray support it's not worth the outlay at the moment. I could get a 970/90 but can't see the point if the 1070 is better and may get the support soon. think I'll just have to wait a few months.
I wouldn't buy the 970, you will be very disapointed. I had a 960 overclocked, and while a 40min cpu, was a 15min or so with the 960, it was slow, and on the viewport, when you have a few things, trying to move the camera, was a total nightmare to be honest. I will not return the card, I will keep doing cpu renders, even if I have to do the promos during a full night.
The only card that matches the 1070, is a 980ti, again, for what I've seen, and also the 980ti, or the TitanX, has 100w more TDP, wich with my psu, I would need to buy another one, so 100€ more fore the 980ti (or even more depending on the model), and a new psu, for another 140€ or so... that was a no no, but when I read the post... I get really sad, people saying that august, september... that was two or three months, and I need to do a lot of renders for each product. Then I read some "oficial" posts about Iray support, and being during Siggraph the realease date of the support drivers, I will endure my renders looking at my card on idle while my cpus are suffering XDDD.
Thanks for the info zkuro.
FYI, the 900 series also launched without Iray support. It took several months to get it.
You base this off what? No matter I reread what you wrote, but: should makes me suspicious.
And even when they do work, will they be optimised?
Well it's December 20th, 2016 and both my 1070's do not work with Daz. Hopefully next year.
They should work with the Daz Studio beta, this now supports the new pascal cards
Yaaaay!
I only have a 6GB GTX 1060 and I'm a hobbyist, so it's not that big of a deal - but it was a pain in the ass having to rely solely on CPU.
I'm generally a bit reluctant to upgrade to betas, but today I did it, and it seems the Pascal support works fine here!
I've had to edit the filters in the DLM and enable hidden content. The filter thing might have been due to me turning some stuff off in the past
...But for god's sake save your work (in Daz and on your system in general) before rendering! O.O
I've had 4 bluescreens so far, I think (the last two were KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED and DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. Didn't think to write down the dirst two, probably the same) and a couple of Daz crashes on my AMD machine :/
