I saw this in my messages today, but I'm confused. It reads "Free Daz Originals" but it's actaully a 4$ off coupon. Am I missing something? I couldn't find another thread about this, so maybe it's just a goof.

When I had two Daz accounts, I used to get offers like these on the account that I rarely used. It was marketing to encourage a site visit and possible purchase. For $4 you can get at least two older PC+ items. Don't let it go to waste since no qualifying purchase is required. It won't apply until you put it in your cart.
It's done with smoke & mirrors but you have to provide the smoke and mirrors.
Judging by the way it was written up, perhaps what it was offering was $4 off DAZ Original items that were once offered as a "free" item. Every week, there's a free item available (don't know if it's free for all users or just PC+ members).
Small print says 'excludes PC items'
It's a strange one - saying 'free' daz originals and then saying you get $4 off. Think something went wrong somewhere.
In general, the weekly freebies are free to everybody with purchase of another item and completely free to PC+ members without an additional purchase
It must have been a misfire.
If there were anything on the offer page at 4 dollars or less, I'd use it; but, I'm not going to buy something I don't want just to save 4 bucks.
Ah, but it doesn't exclude new releases! Any Daz Original you'd like that would be more affordable for $4 less?
That's just it...they're not free forever, so if you missed out on getting them the week they were free, then they are no longer free. I wasn't offered this "sale", so I wouldn't know what "Free" DAZ Originals were being offered. I'm just guessing that was what the marketing was for, $4 off an item that was once offered as a freebie.
Good point. It looks like I have a few days before it expires---I'll look around just to be sure.

I got this same message, and I see that she is free in the cart!
I have V7 already, but I tried a few other items. It looks like it's just $4 off for me. I'll try some others to see what happens.
Thanks, jakiblue. Darn fine print! In that case, there's still something you can get for nothing or next to nothing out of Daz Originals, unless you've already bought all the cheapies.
Dream Cutter, I guess you got lucky, but it doesn't work for me. Got the same message, took your advice, but I only get $4.00 off of V7, so I guess I won't be getting her for free.
I'll probably also lose my $4.00 discount when I cancel this, because it states it is a one time use only. Oh well, C'est la vie...
Using it means you did the actual purchase. If you have not purchased, you have not used it, you still should have the ability to use it.

Thanks Chris for looking into this, but a lingering question remains. Is Daz aware of how much confusion they cause with these promotions that are misunderstood by a good portion of their customer base on an almost daily basis?
The nice thing is that lost sales is impossible to measure accurately, so marketing never has to deal with the fallout! WIN!
Well, I did manage to get a Daz Original free with this offer ... when I threw my PC coupon into the mix. Good thing I hung onto it so long.
It won't be used until you actually check out.
I think the rule is just to put "free" into every advertisement. :)
I just noticed that the link in the message takes me to "popular" daz originals. I was able to change that and now I see more options....nothing free, but more options than before.
Like I said before..it's probably just an error.
Those who received the message are basically receiving a gift of $4 when used on DazOs. Depending on the item chosen, this may cover the full cost or partial.
If you want V7, if you buy any of these new releases, you can get her for $3

That is an awesome incentive, but I couldn't find anything I wanted from the new releases. V7 will just have to wait until another time. No worries, I used the promo on another item.
