Great Scott Marty!!

Is it just me or does the new Mountain Valley set look like it was lifted from the Hill Valley set from Back to the Future. The only thing it is missing is a Delorian racing down the street.

I think that is about the only thing it is missing. Maybe someone will do an add on set with a night setting with a lightning storm.

I think I have seen a few free hoverboards out there on free sites but can't remember where right now.

With the name, is there any doubt?  MOUNTAIN/ HILL? And it's part of a Time Travel promotion?

    As for hoverboards etc..

(I must say, I'm annoyed at all this time travel stuff while I can't finish my big time travel picture because of hard drive problem taking my computer to the shop :( But here's a test render from a few days ago to show I'm ahead of the fad!)

The same (but slightly modified) set was used for Ghost Whisperer - just to indicate how flexible this set can be! Only thing stopping a purchase from me is that it looks to be iRay only and the animations I'm working on (and would use this for) I'm rendering in 3Delight :(

Actually that is an older set and I have it it was out LONG before iray it is certainly 3DL friendly.

No problem :) On another note, you say the car works fine in Daz with 3Delight? I've put off buying it because it speaks so heavily about Poser and Lightwave with no mention of Daz3D as compatible??

I got it when I was still using Poser and I haven't used it in Studio yet. I am at work right now and if you let me get back to my room, I will give it a try and let you know how it looks and works in 3DL.

    Okey Dokey,

Here is the gull wing imported into Studio straight from my Poser runtime. I didn't change anything on it so all so you could see it as it would load for you. Obviously there are a few issues as there seems to be quite a few spots in the mesh. It doesn't have these in Poser, so you might want to consider that before purchasing.

They look like the issues caused when the mesh has a quad with three vertices in a line - using the Triangulate command (Edit>Object>Geometry>Triangulate) should resolve that if so.

How can you present a time travel sale without featuring a metropolitan police public call box? wink

Very carefully! Plus there is a sonic screwdriver in the center console.

BTTF was the first thing to pop into my mind when I saw this set.  And the Mega Charger/Gullwing products are perfect compliments - you can even make the flying delorean using them, although there's nothing connecting the wheels to the car.

Is a flying Delorean, and works, supposedly, in Poser....but needs some fixing and exporting for Daz...if someone want to fix it :)

I'm not saying this has any connection with my previous post at all.

Here's the one I use.  I modified Boardman's mesh available at ShareCG, removing the polygon based letters in the main signs for a texture map.

If it looks a bit different from the various prop/set pieces in the show (both "classic" and the "revival"), that's because Boardman created a mesh based upon the proportions of a real Mark II Metropolitan Police Public Call Box.  If one compares the elevation drawings of an authentic 1930s era Mark II box (it's gotta' be a Mark II as there were others designs that varied wildly in their designs), with the numerous set pices built from 1963 until the last few years, one would notice the proportions of the various elements varied more than one might have originally assumed.  Google "TheMindRobber" (all one word) and you'll find a site that discusses the various props.  The site's creator even displays a comparison chart of the the props with that of a real Mark II.  It may amaze you how different they all are.

Sorry, this nerdy background stuff fascinates me. wink

    Sincerely,

    Bill
