Thank you Saiyaness for Imari.

As someone who has several family members that have Vitiligo I very grateful for her

I was excited when I saw the preview in my email.  I would like more like that for my 3d characters.

Definitely one of the more diverse character choices out there for Daz creators to choose from.  Don't know how popular she's going to be, but she's going in my basket.

  • Thank you for responding to my post by creating an actual vitiligo character.

Hopefully there will be a male version.

Hi all! Thanks for the nice comments :) I had a suggestion to do it from a forum member, but I saw a post about it when she was in production so it's a happy coincidence. :)

I can do a male version, for sure! I want a male version for personal renders anyway so it's a good excuse :p

Imari is really interesting, and she looks absolutely attractive and individual - with or without vitiligo. She is on my wishlist; sorry, I had to save a bit for Ivan 7... blush

There was a girl who looked very similar to her on "America's Next Top Model." I was wondering if that was your inspiration?

She's a very special girl. Had a bit of a tussle with her lacrimals (not enough pink in them for me). I had the same thing with Priya; so, it must be a Saiyaness trademark.

Everytime Saiyaness releases a new character these days I find myself shocked and amazed. They're so unique while not being crazy or anything. I love a lot of character creators work but honestly Saiyaness really stands out to me.

I saw this and said: I have to have that. And I render females once in a blue moon.  Please continue with your unique and excellent productions!

I think shes a great looking character. Aces to you Saiyaness.

Now we just need an actual albino (with ALL the characteristics....pink eyes, white hair, no skin pigmentation....)

I was mucking around with a modified Lee7 skin a while ago with the eyebrows from Luthbel's Wise Sensei set to see if I could get a good albino but it's still off...if I could get the eyebrows right, I'd definitely do an albino male and female. (Unless RawArt does a Genesis 3 reboot :)) I'm really critical of pale eyebrows (made artificially) so Fibremesh would be the best. For these renders, I had translucency weight cranked up high to get them pale but they're a bit glowy :p

It's not ideal, but I got fairly close. O_o

To me the eyebrows look a bit thick and solid which makes them stand out a bit too much. The overall figure is fantastic though o.o Maybe they only appeal to a more select audience but it's figures like these that I find really inspiring.

Do you mean on Imari or the alibno test I did? :p Imari has pretty bushy brows too XD

The Wise Sensei brows aren't the shape I would want for that character, it was just a test to see how they looked because I can't get convincing pale brows with photo references and tweaking. (Not to my liking anyway)

Oh, I meant on the albino one; they just make me keep staring at them (wondering why the innermost parts look like thick hairs pushing inward instead of growing towards the outside of the head) when I want to be staring at the rest of the character xD Not saying it as criticism anyway, just trying to give opinion on what makes it look off to me.

I couldn't agree more! They bug me too :p Anyway, this isn't a character I have in mind for production (being Lee 7 and all) but if I can figure out the eyebrows, I'll have a crack. Someone else could make one in the meantime and the eyebrows could be amazing or terrible. I will inspect them!! XD

Saiyaness, you already know you are one of my favorite character artists, and I had to buy this one immediately!  She is beautiful, even without the unique idea of her being a woman with vitiligo... her base skin alone is worth the purchase.  I really like the make-up free options the best, oddly enough.  Great job!  I don't normally post, but really wanted to make sure I gave you the praise you deserve for this.

You're a gem, Slosh! Made my day! I saw that you used Opal in one of your promos for UHT2 too. Made me really happy! I bought my shiny, new copy the other day! :D

I try to always make a good base skin, especially with a risky character like Imari. She's fairly niche :) So even if people don't like the vitiligo, she still has lovely dark skin. :) :)

You know I hate doing make-up XD If it wasn't uber-lazy, none of my girls would have make-up :p

Although I promised myself I wouldn't spend after Urban Sprawl 3, I couldn't resist this blush

Did a test with Iray, which was actually my first real Iray render blush  The background and lights are what I use in Reality/LuxRender and I decided to take a chance with them since both rendering engines are PBR blush

And here's a close up in Reality/LuxRender, which I'm more familiar with.  I also applied ThePhilosopher's Peach Fuzz! Facial Vellus Hair for Genesis 3 Female(s)

    The character is gorgeous heart

Buying her as soon as I get home!

I have family members with this condition-they get so may stares and rude comments-thank you for this Saiyaness!!!

Check out Michaela DePrince, the ballarina for another beautiful woman with this condition.

BTW, if you do make an Albino, I'd love to see the real typical human eyecolor as an option- it's not red! It is a very pale blue, and the pink shows when the pupil catches the light just right.

Thanks for making my request I knew you'd be the only one to make a character so beautifully crafted. Now I have to just upgrade to Gen3 finally now that GenX2 has been updated.

How could you pick on people with vitiligo?? It's so cool looking!! I worked with a chick that had it all over her back and I would stare at it, but in a "I really want to take photos of your skin" kind of way :p

I saw an Albino Asian woman once at a supermarket and after I picked my jaw up off the floor, I wanted to ask her for a photo. SO cool looking. Also, she should have been wearing elf armour or something. Not casual mum clothes :p

I know this is kinda weird illogical, but you just became even cooler in my eyes with those comments.

Also random, but I remember reading somewhere that Michael Jackson had vitiligo and that was the reason for his constant skin surgery "attempts to look whiter."

When I saw this character in the store I thought, at first, it was one of those niche characters like some elf-thing, and passed, not looking further.  Then reading this thread I took another look, realizing what I was seeing, and thought, "Oh my god that's incredible!"  I work with a Hispanic person who developed this condition.  He's gone full white now (could pass for albino if it wasn't for his hair and eyes), and seen another with it.  It's really striking.  I can understand being mesmerized by it... it's compelling to want to touch it to see what it feels like it's just so different (especially when it's black skin and creamy-white areas).  I know, technically, it's considered a genetic defect, but it can be pretty beautiful in its way.  Although, being a big guy all my life, I know quite well how people can be, and one would be more inclined to want to hide it rather than embrace and enjoy it.

Ok, enough ramblings!  Into my cart it goes!

The skin is pretty close (though true albino's still have a bit more pinkish cast to their skin, in subsurface primarily, but hard to tell in that background and lighting) but the eyes and lips need a little work.  Albinism removes the pigment from the iris as well, causing them to have pink eyes.  Most wear colored contacts to cover this up these days.  The lips have a bit more pinkish cast than the rest of the skin, while remaining pale.

It may just be from the lighting and background, but the skin looks a bit too blue and not enough pink.

    But still very good!

See?  It's kismet.  Your next character should be an asian albino female!

(that would be SO cool to have in my content folders......)

Yes please! Mei Lin has outstanding skin, but she's more of a mature figure so she doesn't really get the same breadth of use I'd like and I haven't been too excited by the other Asian figures.

That said, I've had Jurou on my wishlist for awhile because he's waiting on my getting hold of Lee 7 himself. If he'd been a Pro Bundle character that would have made the pro bundle an immediate buy, but instead it's a bit trickier for my poor wallet to organise.
