Question about "Wound Makeup Artist"

So Ive been looking for something like for a while now. This looks nice but have some concerns.

First, the product says its for 3DLight, but if I render it in Iray, will the wounds still work correctly?

Also, say I buy the Gen 2 version, will it more or less work on the Gen 3 figures as well?

The Gen 2 version of this product:

There is an Iray for Gen 3 version, Wound Makeup Artist Iray for Genesis 3.  You might try taking a look a that.  It's still new, but past the discount time, though.  I think the two products work differently enough that it is unlikely that the 3Delight version would work as well as the native Iray version.  SimonWM does a really nice job to optimize his wounds for the render engine in which his product is designed.  I think getting the one native to the engine in which you are working would be a better option.  As for the gen 2 version working on gen 3, I have my doubts that it would since material zones are different even if you are working with the geoshell.

Thank you Knittingmommy, I could not explain it any better.  Since the two products work differently I created two versions one for each render engine. I am presently working on a new product (Iray version) and here is a sample of the Iray product rendered in Iray and the same product rendered in 3Delight. As can be seen the Iray product does not look right when rendered in 3Delight.  Thank you.

I somehow always forget there is another vendor in with SimonWM in those wonderful wound products!  I'm so sorry I failed to mention you.  Especially since I'm not sure how you guys split things up.  I have to say, though, that the new product that looks like soap bubbles, YES!!!!! FINALLY!!!!, looks amazing in the Iray version!  I am seriously going to want this as I've been trying to figure out how to do this in postwork (not my strong suit) as I can't manage to do it in DS!

Knittingmommy, do not feel bad about not mentioning me since you are more familiar with SimonWM, who is a good friend of mine, he has been doing work for Daz for quite a long time. Thank you for your comment on the soap bubbles product, it lets me know that I am on the right track. Thanks.
