  There's no product available to do this.

  However you might be able to adapt JCade's tutorial on how to convert textures from G2 to G3 with Blender

  was there a map transfer utility ?   never really understood it,  TC2 converter bit the dust.

  There's a Map Transfer utility by blacksmith3D at Rendo, but it has add-ons to convert to G3, not from G3.
