Opinion/perspective needed...JM Human Shader or HumanReshade?

Hi. These products seem similar. I would like to hear some opinions on them so I don't waste money!

Thank you!

I have both, and I like the JM Human Shader best because it seems the simplest to use, and it works regardless of the figure and UV set.

That's EXACTLY what I needed to hear :) Thank you!

I would say that HumanReshade is a much better shader, but only choose it if you're working primarily with Genesis 3 figures.

Having said that, tweaking skin settings is a great learning experience and you can find lots of resources here and elsewhere.

Maybe unpopular opinion: neither. V3Digitimes products are more versatile, more physically accurate and more bang for the buck. I did own the original product and I returned it because it was physically inaccurate. I didn't buy the second product because I doubted it had advanced much given the errors of the first.

I agree completely. V3Digitimes products are absolutely the best for converting non-Iray skins to Iray.

Yeah, I hate to be a bandwagon guy, but after I bought Iray Skin Converter, I have literally not even touched any other system for converting skins to Iray.

    It works very well, consistently.

That said, as mtl1 says, fiddling around with skin settings is a valuable experience that will help whatever you do; Iray Skin Converter works best if you understand what it's doing and why, and can tweak things to your liking. (Like some skins use base diffuse for translucency color, some don't; I find adding the texture maps to translucency color if missing almost always helps)

Ditto on the bandwagon. I own/used JM Human Shader, but found it useless for my tastes (photorealism).

I dont have HumanReshade, but I do have JM Human Shader and V3Digitimes products. I go straight to V3Digitimes products if im using V4/M4 or any of the genesis figures. I use JM Human Shader for any figure (human or not) that isnt covered by V3Digitimes. I like both of the products. V3Digitimes products are top notch.

I must be the only dissenting opinion on the Iray Skin Converters. They've never worked well for me -- especially the translucency options.

To be fair though, I've found that the best results were to adjust skin settings by hand.
