Hi All,

I've taken a look through the forums and have been unable to find basic tutorials on the above [Sky Boxes, Sky Domes, Environment Speres].  All I want to do is to put a model in the centre of a space/cosmos scene and move around that object.  Can anyone give me some pointers on where to begin, please?

Thanks,

Jes

Do you want to use Iray as your render engine or 3Delight?

    Hi Sonja,

Um, I don't know...I'm using Daz3d v4.9 so whatever is the default (unless something better (quick and simple) can be pointed out)

I'm a very casual user of 3d modelling software using it only when I have to, so my understanding is at a very shallow level and my time for investment is limited.

Any help you can give would be appreciated, thanks.

    Later,

    Jes

Okay so probably Iray since that's the default.  Sorry, I'm on vacation right now with limited access to the internet.  Let me see if I can find some threads here that will steer you in the right direction

Okay try this thread for the somewhat quick explanation of the Iray Dome and Sphere, Sun & Sky etc.  It has links to other stuff as well (I asked about this recently myself as I was very confused lol)  http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/83661/iray-environnments-question#latest

    Hi All,

Thanks for assistance, I think I'm slowly getting there - it's just a case of playing with the different parameters now.

One last quick question - I've got a skydome surrounding my objects but it's exceptionally blurred and stretched and I'm not sure why; the default image is also massively blurry; is there a way to simply resize it / bring it into focus more (as per the starry sky in the document by Fishtale in Sonja's thread above).

Any thoughts?  And then I'll leave you be.

    Later,

    Jes
