Any renders of her without makeup; warrior stuff; and definitely not wearing anything provided in the packs?

Here's a quick render; only makeup is one of her nice, decent eyeliners (thank you, Daz, for not using Homer Simpson's makeup gun this time for the 'normal' makeups!). The eyelashes are from 'Andie for Olympia' (3DSublimeProductions); I don't like thin lashes - for men and women alike. I slanted the eyes a tiny bit, made the irises a little big bigger and increased the nose bridge depth, but nothing else was altered. I use DS 4.6, so the skin is probably much darker and more orange than the Iray skin; I'll have to adjust that.

I love this character because Rune7 is so versatile; she doesn't deserve to be reduced to the 'Warrior Queen' stereotype. The only thing which is not perfect on her is the throat pit (see pic); it is too narrow. Maybe Daz could fix this in an update.

And doesn't she look good in 3delight. Great render caravelle. I think you're right about the eyelashes too, nice touch.

I thought it sounded bizarre, but her main page doesn't have the metrics and I couldn't be bothered installing her and measuring to check. Anyone have any idea how tall she atually is?

    Thoughts:

    - Rune looks really good.
    - Izabella's broken proportions look really obvious there (also she has completely different type of skin settings to the others and really stands out.)
    - I don't remember but does Olympia also have different style skin settings? I know the older G3Fs all have basically the same copypaste settings as each other.
    - We need some short girls. Or even some 'average' height girls.

Thanks, I updated the original post (not that I expect anyone to go back to it.) It's interesting that V4 & 7 are about the same height. There's a massive difference between the V5 and V5supermodel morphs in height.

here's her normal makeups as you can see very subtle only really notice really close up and enlarged, also the makeup bases don't include lipstick those are seperatly added so in away you can say she has 12 makeups first fig has no makep up, then 00 makeup+00 lipstick, 01 makeup/lipstick, 02 m/l, 03 m/l, 04 m/l, and 05 m/l

no prob, few asked to see and since I recently bought at least all the basic g3 bases was able to except for girl7 and guy 7 don't have. Well only have the base for Olympia7 and that's like the others standard and iray legacy maps and basic makeups and high & medium translucency options but there may be extras in the bundles, also different lighting can affect the skin look as well as camera distance didn't use any lights but in the very first pic I uploaded with her, gia, olympia and the two bonus pro bundle girls she appeared to have darker skin, the g3f group one not as dark but tanned well and the closeup headshots with the makeups pale skin so its all about light, and camera distance

well you could probably maybe get something out of this http://www.daz3d.com/shapely-genesis-3-female-ii-fantasy    even though it's more aimed at fantasy styles it says besides having full presets has seperate dials to adjust the different sizes for different parts of the body and one build looks like how dwarf/midget/little person sorry I have no idea what term is acceptable anymore

I agree, I agree.  Rune 7 isn't just a warrior queen.  She's got the muscular body, but she's feminine, too. smiley  She's a fascinating character base.

All the renders and the comparisons in this thread are good!

I was asked to do them like this with the same hair, pose and outfit and many often ask to see with no make up in real life though there are many people unrelated that have very similar features to each other world wide I myself have several looking clones seen and been told look of that look like me one being comic artist Joseph Michael Lindsner

The issue with short girls isn't just the morphs, its also the poses. You can dial "up" the height (why does going up on that dial decrease height anyway???) But the poses are also made for women 5'9 or 10. So when you create any shorter character, any pose that interacts with anything requires lots of adjustments.

Every major figure gets a variety of pose packs along with it. If Daz took up the challenge of creating a shorter woman who is not a teenager, it would be nice to have some poses for that character. Sometimes clothing can look stretched or compact, too, if it has a design on it.

I'm 6 feet, and my wife is 5 feet tall, on a good day. She's more like 4'11". The only characters that height in Daz are kids and very young teens. My wife isn't a teen. She's not a fantasy character from Lord of the Rings, either, though she sure can grind an ax! There are places in the world where less than 5 feet is considered AVERAGE. You sure wouldn't know this browsing the store here.

At this point, I think its just being a bit lazy. Because making a figure that short would throw a lot of poses out of wack, and some props might not fit easy.

  • ANGELREAPER1972ANGELREAPER1972 Posts: 4,555

your right about props and poses not all say poses made for g3f work as well or the same for all g3f's so shorter gals yeah probably would run into problems with some poses or look just weird

There sure are a lot of options. :-)  All of them are very dependable though, especially when it comes to the catchlight in the eye.

I think I used one of the Classical Portrait setups -- maybe the first one.  It was a setup that didn't emphasize shadow on either side of the face.  Sort of an evenly lit setup.  Then I added the Pale Tan environment (included w/the Painter's Lights), and for a backdrop, I used the Render Studio Floor and Wall. smiley  The color environment you choose will really make a difference, too.  If you can use your Auxiliary viewport, you can see which environment will give you the look you want, w/o having to do a test render of each.  I have to be careful w/that Aux viewport though, or DS will freeze.  My AMD video card is at fault, I am sure.

    I hope this helps!

Poses will always need adjustment unless you keep your figures close to default shape and style. With male poses I often adjust hands and feet, and arms. I don't really see a way around that since most people's taste in figures varies considerably and a lot of people customize the figures away from default.

I personally miss some of the more neuter like pose sets from genesis which could be used for both sexes.

I use G3M poses for G3F half the time anyway - she has a lot less backstrain and dislocated hips that way...

I agree. I always think of any pose as my starting point. I think I've done one render where the pose was used as is. (The male in Baggage. And the coat he's wearing had a matching morph!) I don't like my women to be as tall as the men, so any couples poses need a lot of extra work adjusting for the shorter female. (Yep. Dial down the height!)

  • BurstAngelBurstAngel Posts: 763

Yup, can't stand couple poses where the woman seem to overpower the male trying to hold her, she always looks like a giant, makes the man look weak to me.

And it always takes forever to ajust both male and female poses for a shorter female figure. Daz just needs to give us SP7 so PAs can can make some couples poses that actually make both figures look nice and well balanced.

As a 1.90 m tall woman, this is one bias that DAZ has that I'm actually glad of wink

Rune, with a few small changes (muscle morphs, eyebrow shape). Render stopped at about 25%, still grainy, but I'm definitely glad I scraped the money for her.
