Can't find content I installed last night.

I installed content with the DIM many times, but after installing the last batch last night I find I cannot find the new content in DS 4.9.

Any suggestions?

You can go to the "installed tab" of DIM and look for the item you installed last night.  If you hold your mouse over the product name it will tell you where it was installed (folder directory).  Sometimes I mistakenly install my DS contents into my Poser folder.  If that happened to you, just uninstall it and reinstall it to the correct folder.

Which items, and where are you looking for them?

    Thanks everyone.

I installed a large number of items, one being "Central Station."

I looked in Products for it so I could put that item in Categories.

I do that with all the items I install.

    And thanks.

I will do that also, but there has been no change in my install directories ever.

And I just did that and the items are in the same location as all my other items..... strange as to why I cannot see it.

If the CMS wasn't working when DIM installed them, the Product entries woukdn't have been created -- try right-clicking on the product in DIM and choosing "re-import metadata".

    That did it, Mike.

    Thanks so much.

I am curious though about how this happened, because I made no changes to any settings when I installed the new items.

    What do you think?

If I re-import all the items I have installed in DS will that cause any trouble?

I ask because otherwise I have a lot of items to search through and then re-import the metadatta for those items installed last night.

You can just re-import everything, it won't hurt anything if the metadata is imported twice.

    Thanks again.

Another possibility is that the DIM files were not set up correctly. I bought all the volumes of "Grasslands Foliage" and installed them through DIM. Then they didn't show up in DS. Checking the installed files the geometries and textures were installed in Runtime but no PP2 prop file was installed. Instead a seperate zip file with the PP2 files  called "Install to Poser 5" was installed.  So, of course,  DS can't find them and no entry was created.

Well for $0.48 each I guess I shouldn't expect too much; but it will be a real pain to go through and put the files in the proper places.

Note that this used to be common in non-DAZ products in the long-ago days before DAZ|Studio. Everything was manually installed from zip files (executable installers were only done by DAZ at that time) so it was much easier to notice this sort of thing happening. Also, those early Poser versions were much more limited than modern Poser and D|S in how much could be stuffed into the content folders; it was possible to have too many files, and some of them would be invisible. This meant separating the different versions of the Library files into different zip-within-zip files so you only installed the ones for the Poser version you were using.

Apparently nobody noticed this when lots of RDNA stuff was transferred into the DAZ store. Some of them have been fixed; if you come across any unfixed ones, open a support ticket.
