Deforming Film?

Is it possible to load film into DAZ Studio and deform it? I know that animated textures can be used but not sure if this is a solution. Alternatively, is this possible in any other software? Preferably at the cheaper end of the price range but all options considered.

What exactly do you mean? Like cellophane? Or do you mean a camera effect that looks like melting movie film?

I'm hoping to find some way to create the kind of stretching effect in the photos below. They're glitches in Google's street view when it doesn't update fast enough. They remind me of extreme deformer settings applied to objects in DAZ Studio. I'd like to stretch film in this way - either by loading it onto an object as an animated texture and then deforming parts of the object or as a video effect in Vegas or AE.

By "film" you mean an animated image texture... You are trying to load an animation sequence onto an object and have it deformed by the objects surface?

If all you're looking for is to create still photos that look like those warped Google pics you shared as samples, I'd suggest you download GIMP, which is a totally free open source image editing software, and mess around with the various deforming filters such as motion blur, fisheye, etc. You'll have more options if you search for the GMIC plugin for GIMP online too.

This is all postwork that you'll have to do with your render, and you'll probably need to use a combination of layers with different filters to accomplish what you're looking for. But it can be done, and it can be done for free.

Yeah, it's the word "film" that is confusing in this instance. There is no "film" in a digital camera.

Thanks for trying to help. Sorry if it wasn't clear but these are still images captured from a video film recorded while using Google Street View. I don't have a link to the actual film/video/2D sequence of image frames (call it what you like.) I thought the word 'film' had a pretty clear and universal meaning but obviously not. I'm trying to find a way to create this effect on a film/video/2D sequence of image frames etc. Either I need to find a video FX that can be used in Vegas or AE to create this effect or find a way to load the film/vidoeo/sequence of images into DAZ Studio or some other 3D program and deform it. Has anyone come across a similar effect either for an NLE/compositor or a 3D program? I tried Vegas warping FX but instead of stretching the video smoothly a black hole appears at the center of the stretch that grows increasingly larger as the warp is increased. All the NLE warping FX (BorisFX Continuum Complete, Red Giant, New Blue and Hitfilm) seem to cause this black hole the more the film/video is warped.

I thought that if there was some way to load the video/film/image sequence into DAZ then I might be able to deform it. The only way I could think of doing this is as an animated texture but this seems limited to very short sequences. I'm stumped when it comes to other ideas.

Something like that is best done in a compositing program, not DS. Things like Adobie Premiere (or whatever their program is now).

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep on the lookout for some kind of video plugin that can simulate the effect I need.

If you create a new d-form on an object and warp it, the texture should also stretch and deform as well, which can be animated in Daz as well.
