Poll - How much RAM do you have?

For both Windows and Mac users: how much system RAM do you have? I would like to get a rough idea for an application which is in the planning stages. Thank you.

    Windows, 16G.

Not enough for bigger renders. ;)

  • Windows, 8-16GB (I just bought an extra 8 GB card, like three weeks ago, and since it turned out faulty I'll have to send it back. Most of my rendering was done with 8GB only)

16GB and Windows 7 on my old I5 machine. 32GB and Windows 8.1 on the newer I7 render monster.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Win7 Pro, i7 and 32 GB on my "DAZ Studio" PC. (What it lacks is a good video card - I had it custom-built pre-Iray)

I've only got 12GB in my Windows 7 computer. My desktop PC is around 4 or 5 years old now and this is the maximum RAM it will take, it was considered a lot when I bought it. It works quite well for me although I don't tend to use Iray very much.

My computer now would be considered stone age, though it was top of the line for NLE when I bought it.
I'm running with 12.0 GB RAM and a  Nvidia GTX 670 graphics card at the moment.  Using Windows 7 Pro; 64 bits.

It's about time for an upgrade.

    Windows 10, 16 GB Ram

I would like to get more, but I'd need to upgrade my MB and CPU. I'm maxed out right now :(

32GB, which I think is a great when working with really big scenes, particularly if you have many other apps open at the same time (browsers, office apps etc).

It ranges.  I have a couple of Win boxes with 2G for testing, 2 Macs with 4G, a couple of of Win boxes with 6G, a Mac with 16G, a few win boxes with 16G, one with 64G, and several with 128G.

Is 8.1  better than Windows 10?  I completely skipped 8.1 because I was completely happy with 7,  but I've noticed that Microsoft is telling me everytime I boot up that I can get a free upgrade to 10 up until sometime in June or July. What would be the point of getting 8/1 now?

I didn't skip 8/8.1....  And I didn't particularly care for it; it was too touch-screen centric for my purposes.

But wouldn't you know, as soon as I finally got used to that Metro interface (or as I called it, "User Interface by Fisher/Price"), Microsoft introduced Windows 10.
