Consider them a sort of a vaguely historically accurate apology for the hideously unrealistic "Extreme Blades" :D

Val, you did a beautiful job on these! History should totally forgive you, because these are stunning.
The historian who has hand forged things like this in real life just went "wow".
These do look superb, Valandar - fantastic work!

Nice....
Now what would be truely wonderful is a set that models the full Oakeshott typology (or at least a type XIX) :)
I was considering doing a set of the full typology, but that would, of course, be at least 24 swords, many of which would be indistinguishable to the average user.
True, not a lot of variation across some types, for sure.. Thanks for these, one gets tired of the outlandish weapons that seem to be so popular...
By the way.. just purchased these.. too nice to ignore or pass up..
Thanks!
Heck, even a large number of my older somewhat fantasy weapons are at the very least "useable", like "Epic Flail", the crossbows, the "Order of Steel", the zweihander in the Greatswords, the "Polearm Armory", the "Rapiers of Legend", and most of the "Spears of Destiny". Meanwhile, a majority of the others could be made feasible by simply scaling the blade or head down.
Doesn't mean I still won't have fun on occasion and whip up some purely fantasy weapons, though. :D
That's true, and a good point, well taken.
On the other hand, the "Extreme Blades" are all almost entirely useless in reality. Except maybe the lion sword, that's not TOO far from reality...
