For both Windows and Mac users: how much system RAM do you have? I would like to get a rough idea for an application which is in the planning stages. Thank you.

Windows, 16G.
Not enough for bigger renders. ;)
Windows, 8-16GB (I just bought an extra 8 GB card, like three weeks ago, and since it turned out faulty I'll have to send it back. Most of my rendering was done with 8GB only)
16GB and Windows 7 on my old I5 machine. 32GB and Windows 8.1 on the newer I7 render monster.
Cheers,
Alex.
Windows 7 64bit with 32Gb RAM.
3Delight renders.
+1
Win7 Pro, i7 and 32 GB on my "DAZ Studio" PC. (What it lacks is a good video card - I had it custom-built pre-Iray)
Windows 10 Pro x64
32GB RAM
WIN7 Pro 64 Bit, Intel Quad Core i7-2600, CPU @ 3.40 GHz, RAM 16GB, Nvidia Geforce GTX560Ti.
I've only got 12GB in my Windows 7 computer. My desktop PC is around 4 or 5 years old now and this is the maximum RAM it will take, it was considered a lot when I bought it. It works quite well for me although I don't tend to use Iray very much.
32 GB
My computer now would be considered stone age, though it was top of the line for NLE when I bought it.
I'm running with 12.0 GB RAM and a Nvidia GTX 670 graphics card at the moment. Using Windows 7 Pro; 64 bits.
It's about time for an upgrade.
Windows 10, 16 GB Ram
I would like to get more, but I'd need to upgrade my MB and CPU. I'm maxed out right now :(
Windows 8 and 16gb.
32GB
Windows 7 and 12GB - on a six year old machine.
16GB
32 GB
32GB, which I think is a great when working with really big scenes, particularly if you have many other apps open at the same time (browsers, office apps etc).
It ranges. I have a couple of Win boxes with 2G for testing, 2 Macs with 4G, a couple of of Win boxes with 6G, a Mac with 16G, a few win boxes with 16G, one with 64G, and several with 128G.

Old machine - 6Gb, Windows 7, AMD processor and integrated grapics
New computer (2 months old) - 32GB windows 7, i7 processor and GTX 970
Windows 7 (8.1 soonish hopefully) & 16Gb
2GB (no laughing)
4GB
16GB
Two w/ 16GB, One w/ 12GB; all running Windows 10.
And all three are maxed out.
Is 8.1 better than Windows 10? I completely skipped 8.1 because I was completely happy with 7, but I've noticed that Microsoft is telling me everytime I boot up that I can get a free upgrade to 10 up until sometime in June or July. What would be the point of getting 8/1 now?
Personlly I am pleased with W10. I am glad I skipped over 8
12 thread i7 with 32gb of RAM. Puny GTX 750ti video card. Windows 10 Pro x64.
16GB.
digital art and Unreal engine dual Xeon E5 2699v3 18 core. 32gb. Nvidia VCA, gaming I7 6700k quad core 32gb dual Titan X soon to be 1080
I didn't skip 8/8.1.... And I didn't particularly care for it; it was too touch-screen centric for my purposes.
But wouldn't you know, as soon as I finally got used to that Metro interface (or as I called it, "User Interface by Fisher/Price"), Microsoft introduced Windows 10.
