Dynamic nipples

Well, that's a topic, right? OK so I've got dynamic cloth working in DAZ 4.9. Cloth drape fine around whatever human shape but once it comes to nipples, there is no longer any draping. Instead the cloth run around and the nipples poke through. I've dialed down but without much success. Are there any settings so that there might be a little more tolerance with draping?

Try upping Thickness. I find that solves a lot of problems... or at least helps.
The draping can work only with the mesh resolution suplied - in most cases that will not be anywhere near fine enough to drape over the nipples. Of course if the fabric is not lightweight, or the figure is wearing a bra, or if the nipples are relaxed then they probably wouldn't show much if at all anyway.
You can also try applying a smoothing modifier after draping setting the collision item to the character. Changing the smoothing type from base shape matching to generic seems to work best. Just remember to set Enable Smoothing to Off if you decide to re-drape the item, otherwise it will try to apply the smoothing during the simulation and things will go really slow.
Oh yes. I always add subdivision, smoothing, and set collision to base figure for dynamic clothing, and it almost always improves things.
Thanks guys, will try that out.
Oh my God! What is the world coming to if the nipples can't be draped properly!?
Do you have the full paid-for dynamic plugin or just the free version that installs with D|S? (I can never remember if this feature is in the free version.) In the Dynamic Clothing tab, click on the Preferences sub-tab (if you have it) and tick the box for Face-Body Intersection. This is usually turned off by default; it allows a large-mesh dynamic cloth to drape properly over small-mesh protrusions on a figure. The problem usually is that the small detailed bits of the figure are actually poking in between the larger mesh of the cloth.
Note that how well this works depends a lot on how dense the cloth mesh is; as mentioned upthread, some are not very dense at all, and tend to come out a bit blocky and "chunky" when draped over small details.
As an aside, oh thank God that's what this thread was about.
I have to admit my mind boggled when I first saw the thread title.
:) Relaxed.
Title of the thread aside,
@RobotHeadArt/timmins.william: Thanks for the tipps with the smoothing modifier, did help.
@SpottedKitty: I should have the full version if you are refering to the one which is available in the DAZ store to purchase. But I do not see any Preferences sub-tab. Should that be always visible or does that maybe depend on the dynamic cloth one is working with? Or could it be that I installed the free version over the paid one. According to DIM, I have "Dynamic Clothing Control for DAZ 4.9+" installed. On the promos for the product there are four tabs (Garment, Panel, Physics, Preferences). My Dynamic Clothing Panel shows only the first two but no preferences.
The "About installed plugins"-Dialog shows "Dynamic Cloth Plugin - Basic" and "Dynamic Cloth Plugin - Control" as installed.
depending on the garment, obviously they wont show; on thinner material, then sure, but after draping, at least on G3F, the easiest route is to invis the pectorials - as long as the part it doesn't invis is not partially visible.
Failing that, just turn them down for render.
Make sure you entered the serial number, make sure that you installed the control plug-in after DS initially and in any updates otherwsie it will be overwritten by the basic.
THAT!
You're definitely only supposed to see the second one in the Plugins list. When the full plugin is installed, it's supposed to override the free Basic one — but sometimes DIM gets in a mess and starts to install plugins before it installs the D|S program, so the full plugin registers as installed, but by the time all installation is complete, it's been replaced by the Basic version included in D|S. The simplest fix is to uninstall then reinstall the full plugin, that should remove the incorrect files.
Hm, I uninstalled and reinstalled but still have both in my "About installed plugins"-Dialog: Basic and Control. It works but I'm not seeing the Physics and Preferences tabs. Also I don't have any idea where I should enter the serial number. Both Basic and Control dont' show an option for it. Only with animate2 there is an option to purchase/enter a serial number. Is the serial number automatically handled by DIM?
Can you post a screen shot of Help > About?
If Studio is using the Full DCC plugin then the Physics and Preferences tabs will be present...if it is using just the free version they will not be.
Hmm, that's weird. Are you absolutely sure the version numbers of D|S and the full Dynamics plugin have the same last two numbers? Shouldn't be a problem if you're installing with DIM, but you never know.
As for the serial numbers, it's been a long time since I needed to do that, I'm not sure. I thought it was in the rightmost column in About Installed Plugins, but I just looked at mine, and that column is blank for all installed plugins; even the extra ones I've bought that didn't come with the D|S program installer.
