Only material using "pure" iRay settings is the window glass, the rest is texture based with settings. I'll make a 3DL render for you, hang on.

Metals are the hardest to get to look good in 3DL when they are PBR based though.

Another thing though, the house_engine.dae is compiled with DS 4.8 and won't run in a lower version. I might find a way to do that, got some hints but haven't had time to look into it.

    Thanks.

If it were just the glass or metals, I have shaders for those.

Unfortunately, I am still using 4.7, so if it needs 4.8 or higher, I'm out of luck, anyway.

    Thanks anyway. :)

For 3DL PBR-ish metals, I highly recommend focusing on Reflection (raytrace, color, roughness, weight, etc)

Yes, works well with "pure metals" but when you have metals based from textures which is "paint, rust, dirt" etc, it's rather difficult to get a good result. I've tried a lot.

    Looks very interesting.

The store page says "...is also powered by a script to easily create a row of old town buildings." How flexible is the script? Does it just do a single row? How many buildings in a row? I noticed one promo showing a climbing street - was that done using the script or manually after the buildings were created?

Below is just one example rendered in iray. I also attach a memory requirements. I have only 2GB of VRAM on my Nvidia graphics card.

Anyway, it is an interesting concept. The developer is called Code66, but in PDF is mentioned as Totte.

2GB is what I have as well. So the image you posted had to use computer only for rendering?

I do not know for sure, but Iray Memory Assistant reported the need for the texture RAM over 10 GBytes and 3.67 GB of VideoRAM.

Probably that explains, why the first picture during rendering appeared after 6 minutes of it.

My computer has 32 GBytes of RAM, so it is ok for maybe 2 sets of buildings, but probably too less to build the larger town.

In preferences of iray in Daz Studio, I choosen both GPU and CPU for rendering.

I like the possibility to use scripts to make buildings, but it looks like, such sets need more optimization of used resources.
