Um...something about Taco Tuesday I don't know about?
Some people find it offensive. I dunno, my wife was Mexican, and she would have thought the sale was funny.
My ancestry is Mexican, I found it funny, too.
Well... I wasn't expecting a hot dog stand...

For some reason, I was expecting to see, you know, tacos. Tacos, burritos, little packets of hot sauce... sounds like something from Maclean: Everyday Tacos.
Instead, I've got Everyday Tea in my cart. (Along with a few older items at 90% off! Thank you, DAZ. I've had my eye on Via Serena for a long time.)

LOL!
Some people find everything offensive, LOL
I really like the neon sign image on the banner
I was hoping for some tacos. You can never get enough food items. =-)
Somehow ethnic food is now offensive to some. I am not sure what the offense is but it's been reported that certain universities were forced to stop mexican and asian food theme nights at the cageterias because they were deemed racist. I don't get it. But then I'm of irish descent and the only big irish day is dedicated to getting drunk and I don't find that offensive so maybe I'm dense.
Maybe Daz found that we are all way too fat. But then why did they give us hot dogs? ;-) – Taco or Burrito: I found a nice pose set by DogZ and released the amazing 'Total Bazaar Bundle' from my wishlist, together with two wonderful RDNA/Traveler sets.
Ah, well, at least we can have a nice tea set! That looks really great too!
How in the world is "Taco Tuesday" offensive? It runs on radio ads here for fast food chains like Taco Time. I just thought it was weird there was nothing taco-related in the new releases. *shrugs*
Now I'm craving tacos.
And for those who prefer coffee..... hang on a day or two.
mac
Well I couldn't resist a chance to offend someone with tacos, LOL Luckily Iray kinda makes up for my quick, crappy modeling.
It's a Simpsons reference, isn't it?
Via Monty Python-ish because all of the tacos sold out before you got there.
I thought it was a reference to the Lego Movie...
First thought I had when I saw Taco Tuesday, same as a few others, was, "Oh boy, some crazy is gonna have a problem with this."
I don't think most people who throw around the 'racism' card actually know what racism is...
Still, I love tacos! I could have them every Tuesday.

Excluded middle is such a fun thing. ;)
Some stuff is offensive. Some stuff isn't. People will always disagree on details. Doesn't mean nothing is offensive or everything is.
And nobody here has stated any objection to Taco Tuesday.
But, yeah, weird that there's no actual tacos. Heh.
The whole concept of politically correct is beyond idiotic. People are offended because they choose to be offended. Its beyond me how someone can be offended by the concept of calling food Asian when it originated on the continent of Asia. People clearly have far too much time on their hands. How about they get offended about something important, like animal abuse or or bullying in our schools or the fact that so many of our children are still going hungry ever single day when they live in a country that throws away food by the millions of pounds. Be offended by that and stop trying to find offense over silly things that no one ever intended offense with in the first place.
Although I was hoping for tacos as well...FSMCDesigns those look pretty darn good!
I guess we'll find out tomorrow on Wall Wednesday.
This should be a freebie for Taco Tuesday. Looks good, despite being just 'thrown together'.
Very nice work, FSMC!
It depends on how its presented. If its a bunch of WASPs dressed up in a caricature of a Mexican bandito, when the closest they have gotten to a hispanic is their invisible maids back in the stately manner, then it is offensive.
Its offensive because it reduces a culture to a steriotype, and through long, hard experience, demonstrates there is no intention of ever learning more. Is it an unintentional offense? Yes, and that is a bigger problem than if it was intentional. Is this politically correct? Yes - being anti-politcally correct seems to have morphed, for some (and no one here, of course), into an excuse to be racist.
So as long as there wasn't a cartoon sombrero and fake mustace in the sets offered, its all good.
Thanks Sonja. Funny, I am a manager for a national retail company and every year at Christmas I tell all my employees to wish customers whatever they want depanding on what "they" celebrate (usually it's Christmas with the occasional Hanukkah) and if any nutjob customer gets offended tell them to come talk to me,,,,every year there is always one, LOL. Funny thing is, I get lots of other customers thanking me for not being overly PC, go figure.
My point was just that most of the time, no offense is meant. There are certainly some instances where offense should be taken and one needs to speak out. But most of the time recently, people have taken offense to things that really, were never intended to offend and someone had to work fairly hard to be offended.
I personally thinks its super cool that there is such diversity amongst human beings (and the food, good grief the food from different parts of the world are amazing!) and really, why wouldn't you be proud to have something as delicious as taco's attributed to your country?
There'd better not be a Fish'n'Chips Friday or I'll be kicking off something rotten, and that's no bally lie.
I love fish and chips, so why not have fish and chips on Friday. Used to be quite traditional in the UK. Back in the day Friday was normally payday, so poorer families could splash out on fisn and chips on Friday instead of poor mum having to slave away at the hot stove.
Or they choose to have some semblance of respect after their heritage and their individually was being being put down, undermined, or trivialized by hateful people. If you want to hate, go and hate, it's your right, but no one has to put up with it.
It's actually Jewish. The first fried fish shop was in the Goldsmith district of London. Originally you were supposed to eat the fish and discard the batter, like cornish pasties and the pastry.
Fish on a Friday is Biblical.
But that's not the point for the purposes of lampooning the thread, dammit. It's a disgusting anti-Britsh stereotype, and I'll throw my flat cap at my whippet if I see such insensitivity here on Daz!
Hmmph, I can see i shall have to send my ferrets round to run up your trouser leg if you mistreat your whippet.
Ferret Friday....Ferret Friday???! That's bloomin' well it!
