Hey all, the contest has officially ended, and I am pleased to announce that the winner of a free copy of the Collective3d Baseball Field is RobotHeadArt!

In this contest I was looking at render criteria such as shot composition, lighting, technical skill, creativity, and atmosphere.  The runner-up, Pixel8ed, did a fantastic job with blending complex Photoshop postwork into the original 3d render.  I ultimately chose RobotHeadArt's submission largely due to atmosphere and creativity.  It takes a bit of thinking outside the box to turn a regular everyday closet into a portal to the underworld, and I was for some reason reminded of the film Poltergeist.

There's a lot going on in the composition, as well.  The woman appears curious, while the man is clearly freaked out (perhaps understandably!).  I like the contrast of darkness in the foreground and bright light in the background.

RobotHeadArt, please PM me on the forum to receive your download link!  And thanks to everyone who entered!

True story... the farmhouse is my actual house and my actual kids have done that exact kind of dumb thing, on that same roof.

And if you take away the porches it's identical to the farm house I grew up in (including the interior layout) in upstate New York

It's a very common layout in houses built from around the 1920s until the 1940s.  Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Aladdin all sold houses with that basic layout.
