Hot Topic for Genesis 3 Female

How is this product supposed to work? I get an error when I click to apply the textures to the clothing. There are also no textures included in the file.  Is this a mistake?

    There should be textures in /Runtime/Textures/Lune Designs/HotTopic/, but they're gray-scale, the material presets tint it different colors.  What error message do you get?

    I select the shorts or top, click on the color preset and I get the error attached.  In the screen shot I used a shader preset so I can move on but the product's material presets do not apply anything to the items.

    I think you might need to select the surfaces (through the Surfaces tab) as well as the item. Some items seem to need that when applying new mats/shaders, some don't. On items where it's needed and the surfaces aren't selected I get that error message too.

    Thanks Iwaves, I think I tried that too but same error.  I will check again tonight.

    This is a bit confusing — the store page says "fantastic results when using shader presets", in which case you must have the clothes surfaces selected as well as the clothes item. But, in What's Included, the material options are explicitly called "Hierarchical Materials", which suggests to me that you should select the figure, not the clothes that are fitted and parented to it, and the preset would recolour both the top and bottom together.

    It's nice that D|S has so many options, but some of them need a bit of explaining...

    Is the clothing fitted to G3F? I've found that depending on how they were saved, hierarchical materials may not apply unless they are fitted to the character they were saved on.
