Animated Prop origins

Okay I made a door in Blender, imported everything into Poser and moved the origin so that the door will open and close. However, when i tried to import the door prop into DS, tthe origin moved back to the middle and now the door only spins around the middle axis.

1. Is there a way to import the working door from Poser into DS intact?

2. If not, is it possible to move the origin of the door so that it opens from one side like a normal door should?

3. How would I do this in DS?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Use the Joint Editor tool in DS then open up Window > Panes > Tool Settings. Set the node to the door object and change the xyz of the center point. You can also drag the green + sign around with your mouse instead of using the sliders.

If you need a quick way to zero the sliders out, hold ALT and left click the slider (not sure if its alt on mac or what the equiv is).

    Thanks, Vaskania.

BTW, The equivalent of alt on a mac is command (or cmd or that little flowery whatsis) kind of depends on the keyboard.

    Windows ctrl = Mac cmd

    Windows alt = Mac opt

I started making invisible pivot points for hinges... Most of my models are props, not characters, so I don't know if it makes sense for those.

What I do, is in the modeler, I create a very thin cylinder and place it where the door or part should hinge... When I import (separately) the door and pivot into poser, I then parent the door to the pivot (which I turned off the visibility for) and rename the pivot's appropriate rotate dial to "Door- Open/Close" or something like that. The door should adopt the pivot's center point and rotate properly...  I started doing that because back in Poser 7 on a Mac, the joint editor was a PITA to center and set up. This also makes setting up multiple doors much easier. Usually once I bring the models over to DS, there is no need to do any further fiddling with the those parts.
