Wish I had a swishy computer like yours :)
Beautiful render Jan! I did that same character in my own render and turned it 'vintage'. Just haven't posted it anywhere. But she truly looks like a girl that fits that era.
Thanks so much Colm!
Thank you very much, sapat.
It was fun, experimenting, watching the lighting effects on the textures.
Me, too!
Re upcoming monochrome -- sounds interesting, although I usually don't do monochrome renders. Still, there's something about the Render Studio lights. I keep using them and using them, and mixing them with other sets. They're habit forming. :-) I might as well start saving for the monochromes.
You can use the monochrome for colour renders - it is only if you choose his render settings that it changes to black and white :)
That's good -- more options.
Thanks!
RENDER STUDIO USER's GUIDE: You can access the User Guides via Smart Content: if you double click the Render Studio (RS) icon it will take you to the Contents Directory. Scroll down the page where you'll find a link to the PDF User Guide under "Additional Details". Or you can download via this link:

You've probably already found this info but if you haven't then I hope this helps.
Colm, just want to thank you for producing this great product and I'm having a fantastic time playing with it today hope you all like this little work in progress
Gorgeous render DivaDolly!
Thank you Sapat I'm so happy you like her
Thank you.
Can anyone suggest how I can use Render Studio lights to shed light on Fern Lake which I used in this DAZ render. All suggestions greatly appreciated:
Would the wall light do it? The background light that lights the backdrop only? That's the first thing I thought of.
Or maybe the projector that lights the wall only.
Nice renders, btw. :-)
Well, good luck, there.
I hope you find the right effect!
As for me-self, I have captured the specular eyelight. ;-) Or the render did.
Trying different head poses, the specular eyelight got disengaged from the target. So I deleted it, then added it back and re-pointed it at one of the eyes. And added the cornea bulge.
This is the soft portrait light subset.
Jan, great eyelights! Did you download the additional Specular light that Colm shared on Youtube? If you click 'show more' under his specular light video, there's a link to get that light. It won't overwrite the one that's in the RenderStudio set, it just adds it as an additional one.
Thanks, sapat!
No, I didn't download Colm's new eyelight because I'm not a member of YouTube. I've got no log in -- not that I remember creating anyway. I guess I should register so I can subscribe to his channel.
But -- I watched the video and created an eyelight, just like the one he demonstrated. :-) It does seem to give a more dramatic effect.
Can't see the eyelight in this one, but I've wanted to use the scene subset ever since I saw it. :-)
Armed to the Teeth -- bigger version in the Galleries. The scene subsets spark the imagination.
This render kinda made itself. I love it when that happens.
Awesome Jan!
Jan a very very nice render!
You do not need to be a member of youtube to get the bonus light set - Just go to the video link (rather than watch on the forum) and click on the "show more" & you should see the download link.
Thank you, sapat -- and thanks to you, also, Tottallou!
I enjoy the scene subsets a lot.
Tottalou, I didn't realize I could download the new spec eyelight w/o signing into YouTube. Thanks for the heads up and the link.. :-) Colm did ask that downloaders subscribe to his channel though, and I don't think I can do that without signing in. I'll just join YouTube, or re-join if I already have an account. :-) I may have joined then just forgot about it.
Thanks again, so much, to you and sapat for the nice comments!!!
And Monochrome hits the store :)
Have had a chance to be working (or really playing) with RenderStudio Monochrome for quite a while now, and didn't realize how much I missed rendering in BW. Wanted to post this one with Mei Lin 7 since she's the Lotus Queen. This is using the Dark Vignette option in the program.
Your render is gorgeous, and the light set looks great. Hopefully, I can pick it up sometime soon.
That is EXCELLENT!
I love the way he has given different settings for this These are the evocative and the fedora :)
Excellent illustrative renders, Bea.
CJ's lights are always great.
Thanks Jan, the nice thing is the package does have so many different options and that his scenes will all give a different look to what you would expect to be a boring black and white :) :)
