Easy way to combine 2 shoes into 1 Item?

Is there an easy way to combine 2 shoes (a seperate left and a right) into a single unit?
I can think of a multi-step process that would involve exporting/importing/changing surfaces, and re-rigging, but that's not "easy"
A wearables preset would just give me a single button to load 2 items, right?

Yes, a wearable preset would be the way to go.
Would that combine the Left and Right shoes into a single item "Shoes" in the scene tab?
