Is Renderosity site dead?
in The Commons
I've tried every link I can think of, but I'm just getting garbage pages when I try to go there. Can anyone else access it?

Not at the moment. *starts humming a tune from the Wizard of Oz*
It's down for me. I just get a weird page of css code.
Some of the pages I visited returned the site's actual back end server code including database SQL calls. I'm guessing not a good time for their IT department.
Last day of a significant vendor 60% sale. Maybe getting thrashed.
I was going to go download mysetuff from there instead of getting ready for my trip. Guess I am not downloading that stuff today.
Yeah, that's why I was going there. Usually at least the forums are working, though. Or there's nothing when the server is just down. This, though... this looks like the whole thing went boom.
Oh! I must have been lucky earlier then, when I bought some stuff ... ;)
Show off. ;-)
At least I got what I wanted yesterday, but still have stuff to download though
Come on Rendo..... post something on your facebook page about the status of the website.... that is what a corporate facebook page is for.
is faeriewylde ever coming back?
I got on for a little bit earlier, was getting the coding garbage before and after though.
Just getting a simple 500 error now.
*edit*
They are probably reworking the code for the page. Perhaps new features and/or faster loading? perhaps a new layout?
Maintenance. I get this on the page:
"Ouch!
Down for Maintenance
We're sorry, but all of our servers are having a Tuesday.
We'll be back as soon as we find their favorite espresso."
A faster loading site would be nice, but don't get your hopes up too much; most sites these days seem to think all users have unlimited bandwidth or something.
LOL my only hopes for that site is that the $4,000 plus I have in my wishlist just magically appear in my order history.
When I first found the site, load-time was horrible, but has been fine for me forquite some time now. I only mentioned it because I've seen a number of people complain about it.
Well, if you're gonna wish, wish big! :-D
True. I'm getting real curious how much my Daz wishlist has grown but last time I added it all to cart to find out, the entire thing emptied. It's gotta be at least double rendo's
Someone said they are now on Facebook. I wouldn't know, since I don't do Facebook. But the old site's server I gather went kaput.
When I visit, I get the following message:
Ouch!
Down for Maintenance
We're sorry, but all of our servers are having a Tuesday.
We'll be back as soon as we find their favorite espresso.
Facebook comment, 4 hours ago: "Our programming team is aware of this issue and are currently working to resolve. Thank you for you patience."
Looks like I'll be emptying out my cart of sale items whenever they get it back up... assuming that they ever get do get it back up. I have to say, it's pretty sad when a company whose parent company's business is creating and hosting websites can't even get their front page back up in six hours.
Unfortunately, when things like that happen it is usually something major that's gone wrong...fire in the server room, major hack...those kind of things. I just hope it isn't anything too catastrophic.
Hopefully whatever happened is not like last time when the site got hacked and I had to get a new CC because of how the hackers had been able to intercept peoples financial info during the the checkout process.. :(
Well now it's "the page you are looking for does not exist" with a stupid looking monkey that has a kiss the chef bib.
And of course it came back up right after the sales ended. I guess I didn't need any of that stuff anyway, but if I was Out of Touch, I'd be pretty furious over the number of lost sales it must have cost.
Up again now...
It's back up now, but the sale on OOT's catalog is over. You'd think they'd extend it another day, what with the site down and all... oh, well... they just saved me some money I shouldn't have spent anyway, (which is why I hadn't checked out days ago...)

Sorry, OOT.
It definitely cost them a sale to me. They should extend the sale for a day.
Yep, another sale gone- and quite a bit of money saved. And I think I'll tell them exactly what I think about it on Facebook.
