Is Terai Yuki 2 going to be available?
in The Commons
I already own her, but I shot over to RDNA, which I learned has been subsumed under the DAZ banner. I was looking for head and body morphs for her, but haven't found her or any of her side products here in DAZ shop. Is it just something that has to be waited for? or am I out of luck.
Thanks

I would certainly make sure you downloaded the latest versions in case, since the base figure is not at Daz it's possible that the morphs won't transfer.
Simply doing a Google search for "Terai Yuki 2" will find you what you're looking for.
They're still available at RDNA:

D3D also has some body morphs at Content Paradise btw.
There's also a selection of 40 or so items at Renderosity, like Andolaurino's AA Yua and D3D's Well Formed moprhs. Personally, I've always loved TY2, but she's got a convoluted history that makes future support of her something that's only going to be supported by hobbyists: to wit, a seven year old figure from e-frontier (Japan branch, not USA) that was sublicened from the original Terai Yuki prior to Smith MIcro's acquisition of Poser. If you haven't seen the Terai Yuki freebies list, it can be found here on DAZ at https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/808/links-terai-yuki2-ty2-freebie-list
Just tried an IRay render with the default textures, looks pretty good IMO.
Capsces had Terai Yuki morphs here at Daz, but they have been vaulted ...
i
TeraiYuki

Other than the bad joints, she still works well in DS. Would love to see an updated version that I could use all my old TY addons with, LOL
Or a G2 or G3 morph/clone/whatever plus a texture converter.
Still one of the nicer figures out there. Anyone else besides me that PREFERS the older generation figures like Aiko 3, Hiro 3, and TY2?
I have a huge fondness for Aiko3, TY2 and specially Miki, but it's hard for me not to notice the mesh issues that we don't see/have with newer tech. Luckily we all have choices.
I personally could never go back to the millennium 3 era figures. There were some character face morphs that i was missing like the original " Bernadette" girl next door from blackhearted but i have since moved those morphs up to Genesis 2 via the GENX plug-in so good riddance to OLD figure tech.
***posted edited to say "moved those morphs to genesis 2 NOT 3***
Well, some of us will stick to the old figure tech. :D
Yeah, after all these years it's amazing how good the sculpts for Blackhearted's GNDs and Irina for SP3 still look when compared to much newer figures, and Blackhearted's Anastasia is still the only really great SM-based figure to have been released post Miki. As with Terai Yuki, Aeon Soul's Alice and good old AIko 3, sometimes art can make up for the things that tech isn't capable of.
One certainly should use any figure tech that
helps one acheive ones creative objectives
as long as one understands that third party support will move on and has ZERO obligation
to continue supporting older figures.
mebbe a lil modern subdivision level?
i usually put Yuki and Aiko4 together in scenes. havent tried her with Aiko5 yet.
I am thinking of rebuying her as I no longer have access to my old content paradise stuff. I just hope I can get the money before my birthday coupon expires.
If you still have access to your account you can purchase a re-activation of the links of an order. Just click this button:
It is with the old Content Paradise not the new content paradise.
TOPHow old is the the old CP? My account goes back to june 2009, so it must be pretty old.
Before that, that was around when they redid the store and dropped all the old purchase history.
Yeah, SM never impressed me with their crappy treatment of the customer. I can't say for sure it's why I never took Content Paradise seriously, but it certainly gave me pause before making any purchases. Once I discovered that I had to contact SM to actually use poser quite some time ago (I assume due to the fact that I hadn't opened it in months...the tech person claimed it was because I had changed my hard drive too many times...which I wasn't aware of having happened...maybe a burgalur was switching out my hard disks at night?) before they would permit my license to go still be valid, it reinforced my decision to stick with DAZ Studio and possibly resulted in my not even considering upgrading poser with this last version.
I do recall they did a major rebuild of the store shortly after I joined, comparing my items I can see that I actually must have joined in Dec 2008 and did a few purchases in the old store which are not listed in the new. Got a screenshot from one of those items actually, this is the old store, right?
I'm afraid I don't recall the layout, all I remember is they kept the old store active for re-downloading for a few months, possibly as much as a year, but the old order history from then was not carried over to the new store.
It was http://retro.contentparadise.com - doesn't work anymore.
