Chateau Blanche

The product description for Chateau Blanche indicates there are fully modeled and textured interiors; I would like to see some of these as they don't appear to be featured with the product images, and interior images that gave me an idea of what I had to work work could definitely push me into a purchase on this - Canadian dollar and all.

I don't think that this description means interiors; these are all features of the exterior.

Of course, interiors would be great, but the way I see it, it's only the exterior to grace your landscape.

I missed that! I just looked at the promo images and assumed there weren't any interiors.

I still wishlisted it. It's gorgeous, but a little out of my current budget's price range.

  • This product also caught my eye. I also put in my wishlist and was thinking exactly the same thing as Tercel. Unfortunately, when looking at the windows they dont seem to be transparent. When they were, they would look different. Also, when doing close-ups, you might have to make the displacement map yourself. Just look at the close-up with the tower and roof in it. Seems to be quite flat to me.

I hope someone can prove me wrong though.

I don't know about it meaning exterior only... It says "Fully Modeled And Textured Interiors (No Furnitures)"... It's the part about furniture that seems to indicate interior detail... But I agree, the windows don't look transparent... Not to say that that is final... If the window glass texture is separate from the rest of the model, then it could be omitted and the window material swapped for a glass shader... It could be a workaround to satisfy both people who want interiors and those who only want exterior shots.

I don't own, nor have I seen any images of this model other than the store promos, but I was just adding my two cents.

I don't have time to render, but I loaded it and went inside Building 4. It has textured floors and walls. So yes, there are interiors. Don't know if every room is like that or not. Hope that helps.

Edit: here is a window, not fully rendered. There is glass, what you are seeing is the door /wall INSIDE the room.

Wow if it has interiors as well its a bargain!  Even so, on the wishlist for now as I am just tapped out budget wise. And need to start using what I have....

Looks interesting, but what about doors? Do any of them open?

What's the verdict on the great hall?  And is there a lady's solar?

    Greetings,

Looks interesting, but what about doors? Do any of them open?

This promo picture shows a partially open door, so...probably?

Honestly, it looks SO goddamn epic.  I want it bad, and the 'furniture' comment strongly implied that it did mean interiors when it said that.  I'm certain it's worth every penny, but I can't spring for it right now. :(

I get not showing the interiors in the promo pictures, it's not strictly part of the product.  They're probably just there to manage the view through windows, and stuff, so I wouldn't expect stairs and the like, for example.  Still, it's a heck of a product.

So another one for the 'I wish I had a VR setup to be able to walk through this product' club. :)

This is only 85% rendered, 'scuse the white dots in the shadows. I'm outside doing yard work, then running errands, but I'll do what I can to render some. I'll see if there are doors that I can easily find and check.

I've checked a door and I can Y rotate, which swings it on its hinges. I've found several more. So yep, many, if not all, doors open with Y rotate.

Could you please render some interior, as well.

    Hi Artini-

Not ignoring you, haven't been on the computer. I'll see what I can do.

  • sounds like a must have handy with both interiors and exteriors plus  all the plants, landscape and sky dome was debating cause couldn't see whether it was iray or not which I wanted especially the skydome part then saw

1 Custom Sky Dome For The Iray Environment so rest must be iray too though can't say about those wanting 3delight versions sounds like this one will have a lot of uses just gotta get some appropiate furnishings now (and cobwebs) maybe shoulda grabbed that dinner with duke and iray metalized shaders but I grabbed everything else in that sale

Here's showing one of the doors opened with Y rotate, and I took off the roof so you can see the interiors are done with the same stone as the outside. Didn't have time to setup lighting for the inside, with the windows letting in limited light, you'd have to do an emissive/etc to get a well lit scene to show the materials.

You have a choice of the Scene (with lights) or just the set. Everything is broken down into individual props, amazingly organized so you can shut things off to render. Otherwise it would crawl. KUDOS to the vendor!

And this is with the roof off.

I would strongly recommend shutting off everything you don't need in the scene, because it does take a bit of time to render, even with things closed off.

Since it doesn't say it clearly on the product page, is this Iray only? It's unusual that the promos don't feature a giant 'rendered with Iray' mark :/

I think the castle is cursed. It has an interiior, but any attempt to render it is magically transformed to an image of the exterior. Seems to be the case in this thread anyway.

  • well I render in iray but I've done a 3delight version here so you can see it in that render did use the skydome which dosen't appear in this render so that is iray for a change as well as the lights which is listed as iray

    3delight render Chateau Blanche.png
    1300 x 1000 - 2M
  • and this is exactly same scene with same lights and skydome but rendered in iray but I stopped it at 32% roughly even at that think looks pretty good so a completly 100% completed render should be very impressive I think it's nearly 430am here so that's why stopped early btw

    32 % stopped iray render Chateau Blanche.png

  • those that render in 3delight will probably get better results using appropiate 3delight made lights and skydome but I used the included obviously made for only iray lights/skydome in the 3delight render but like I said I prefer using iray now days and happy got a nice skydome for iray included here

Thanks! Well, I think I'll have to ponder that decision for a while.

Frack, I may have to pick this up after all. How much memory does DS use when the castle is loaded?
