DIM question on re-installing.

Sorry to be posting on this. 

I have looked but not found anything on this.

I have used DIM to download a large number of items and then incorrectly installed them (to wrong place). I know this because when I use DS to load one of them, it shows the item as being listed, but does not show an image in the directory, and does not load anything.

How can I re-install these downloaded items to the proper location. I have looked at the help section, and the settings, with no answers on this.

    To add an install location in DIM, click the gear (Settings) icon in the upper right, go to the Installation tab, click the + in the lower left to add a new path, then change Current to the new path.  Then just uninstall and reinstall.

    Which version of DS, and are you looking under DAZ Studio Formats/Poser Formats in the Content Library or in one of the other panes or lists, which depend on the CMS? To which folder did you install, and what are your content directories in DAZ Studio (Edit>Preferences>Content Library tab>Content Directory Manager button, expand the options under Current set to shoe the actual paths)

    Are you maybe accidentally trying to load the materials instead of the actual props? Sometimes they are in weird places like the pose file in Poser side of the directory.  and it doesn't specifiy that they are textures.  Then it will look like its trying to load but nothing happens...

    I believe Mike has the problem re-directed in my mind, and I believe that will be what I need to do.

    Richard, I am using DS 4.8. I tried to set up an external HD file, but I must have done something wrong, because it is the content "installed" in that folder which will not load in DS.

    Last night, when I installed a small number of items into the default content location, it was successful. I was unable to load all my items to that location because downloads exceed the capacity of C:/ drive; it was a big error on my part to not get a C drive of larget capacity in this new computer.

    And thank you, Ice Dragon Art.... you taught me in your post also.
