No it's not like I listen obsessively to the Archers Omnibus every Sunday - indeed I don't even know when it is on.
This PC https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/view/Vortex-GX-230/ confing has choices of i5 or i7 processors, a 4gb nvidia with reasonable power, and with a bit more memory could still come in just under £1000. Even if you don't use pcspecialist, you can still use them to build up a reasonable expectation of parts costs and what bits work with what other bits.
Before i would give up on multiple GPU's i would go for a cheaper CPU/Plattform....AMD ? your goal are fast iray renders.
You sure you not talking about a trifecta?
I have been using and posing Genesis 3 characters the past couple of days and while I haven't had any Guy 7 DAZ Studio crashes but I've have multiple Girl 7 DAZ Studio crashes and today just when I got the pose like I wanted to render before I managed to save it! There was only Girl 7, Sheridan Hair, Toon Generations Basketball Court & Basketball, the Guy 7 Track & Field clothing, & an HRDI Dome in the scene.
Has anyone here looked into external GPUs?
Please tell me where to find one... I remember looking for one for my laptop before, but wasn't very successful in finding something something that was basically plug-&-play.
I did look at that but it is an expensive option for Macs. There is an external box (google Sonnet) with empty PCIE slots - but it was a pretty expensive empty box.
I've finally ordered a PC with an Skylake i7 and a GTX970. It will be ready in about 2 weeks. Now I need a monitor - any recommendations (looking at around GBP 250 (probably similar in $$).
