Flying poses help

RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,343

Hi,

I seem to have hit a snag... I create a flight pose and do what I think is the right thing to save out the pose in DAZ Studio:

Check rotations only option

Uncheck General and Actor

Check off what I need under the General under Hip under the Translation, Rotation or Scale categories lists.....

But when I go to apply the next pose, say it's a standing pose, the pose is applied but the figure is squewed off to it's side a bit rather than both feet on the ground.

Any help here understanding what I should or should not be doing for the flight pose would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Rich

Are you sure you didn't move the figure using the Figuire node ("Genesis ...") rather than or as well as the hip?

I was told that when clicking on the next pose that the pose should just work but instead it's not looking so good.  I use the Hip to save all the XYZ and Bend & Rotations for flight or being off the ground.  So the pose is set up with Bend set at 20.00..... This seems to NOT be zeroed out to normal when another pose is applied.

I just loaded up Genesis 01, applied the "Flight" pose and found that all the ZYZ and Rotations were used for the pose in the Hip.  When I applied a ground pose, "Fight" he landed back on the ground no issue.  So not sure why when I save out the pose and make sure that the XYZ and or Rotations for that area are selected I'm having this issue unless I DON'T select those but then wouldn't the pose not be applied as intended?

    for the second pose

did all rotation axis have a frame setted ?

if not studio creates there own weird values

I kind of discovered something yesterday while waiting for more responces.  I found that that when selecting ** Check "check only, all rotations only" option ** that DAZ Studio keeps the Rotations for the Hip all selected.  So I just left them all selected and then just clicked the Translations that were needed, which is usally "Y" for off of the ground and low and behold the poses started behaving.

I'm just curious why this is working like that?  I thought when any area was checked off that was what was applied??  I'm not complaining but seems really strange to me.  SO perhaps someone can explain why this works like that?

    Thank you
