Another "Iray only?" Question

Looking at the Collective3d Neighborhood Ranch House 1 (http://www.daz3d.com/collective3d-neighborhood-ranch-house-1) that's on sale right now, it says 'This product uses Iray Materials' with no mention of 3Delight.  So.... just to be sure, since I'm not using Iray, is this package ONLY Iray?  If so... why... why... WHY?????  Why are us 3Delight people getting so alientated?!?  Yes, I know... technology moves forward, move too or get left behind... but man.... if Iray wasn't so friggin' complicated and intimidating to learn...

I was also looking at the 'Modern Heel for Genesis 2 & 3 Female(s)' shoes... and saw they were Iray only, and passed them by.  Missed sales people... that's not how you stay in business....

Ok, going to have a male PMS moment... (poor me syndrome)....  crying

    I am with you on this one with the work that I do I don't need the photo realism and what not of iRay.. And it is a shame really when you see something you would like and see that it is an Iray only product, mainly because the worked needed to convert it to something that can be used in 3Delight is just not worth it.. When I look at products now I check to see if they cater for both 3Delight and iRay, if it does not have support for 3Delight then I won't buy it..

    Such a shame but in the end the money I would have spent on content I can now save or spend elsewhere..

    I agree it can be frustrating to only have the one shader set but on something like this it isn't a deal breaker for me. I've got some really nice shader sets for 3DL (Pimp my prop, etc) and the number of surfaces doesn't look to painful. Now if it had a full interior as well i'd think twice.

    I wonder if maybe it's in the wrong part of the store, materials aside. It has an SKU of 30921, so that would make it very very new. And if you look at the readme, the release date was ... yesterday. So what on earth is it doing in Fast Grab?

    On topic, I'd think this would convert to Ubersurface (included with Studio) fairly easily.

    It is odd being in Fast Grab, not sure I have ever seen a product released into Fast Grab first.
